Hey you guys @Muiredach will know this - its absolute warfare in the digital world right now - pls try to:

- Make sure your fondle-slab, Phabulous Phablets or Lucious Laptops or desktop software is upto date.
- If its old and no longer receives software updates then you need to pay for a vpn. obv don't go with free ones. I'd rec this one : https://mullvad.net/en pay in £ for a true exchange rate. I can't fault them. It works out at c.£4.50 a month - much cheaper than being hacked.
 
Don't get me too far into this discussion, I'll demand you de-Google your life and consider only using Linux and no Android/iOS mobile operating systems 😅



A VPN won't protect anyone against any browser-related vulnerabilities - if an OS is unsupported with security updates, at least use an automatically updated browser like Firefox.

I am de-googling as best I can. I cant stand them.
I find tutamail is also free and heavily encrypted so thats a recommend for a very private personal email https://tuta.com/secure-email
 
Seems you properly understand data security browsing the net, won't go into my own 'protocols' publicly - but suffice to say so much of the internet is generally open for snooping. There's an awful lot which needs to be done browser-side to stave off cookie or more in-depth fingerprint tracking too.
 
I'm crap with all that but do need to get on top of it as she had the bank abused twice a couple of years ago ,through her amazon account I think it was and just eat.
Any easiest recommendations would be welcome ,I take I phones are pretty secure but my laptop and hers ?

For the moment I use ProtonMail, though I've seen a few reports now of them being incredibly reactionary to any legal complaints/requests - despite their claims to notify users. Ultimately the best thing possible is to run your own email server which supports encryption, though this is easier said than done.

The set-up is complex, and if a server is ever inaccesible then mail simply doesn't get delivered (though is generally retried by default for around 24 hours).
