Clinic
👨‍⚕️ Script Assist
Just wanted to say hi to you all. Im currently going through onboarding process with Medicann. Not sure what to expect to be honest and Im not sure how I feel about medicann. I had a 10 minute call with some woman constantly rushing and interrupting me going through her script. Apparently it wasnt the doctors assessment and I have to wait for an email with the doctors appointment. Anyways I might just cancel the whole thing and seek a clinic with a phone and employees capable of having a dialogue. Are there any other clinics you would recommend? How was your onboarding experience with your clinic?

Welcome! Sorry to hear of your experience with Medicann so far, the first phone call is to gather all your details, medical notes if requested and so on, they do indeed use a script so that nothing is missed. When I moved to Medicann months ago the process was very fast, they are now very much busier and it shows... I think the best advice I can give is to wait for the next date for Dr appt, where your questions would be requested. 8)

Welcome @cookiedough, sorry to hear your a little disappointed that you couldn't interact more on the first contact with Medicann, you'll have more time with the doc when you have your Consultation, intelligence gathering is usually the first step by a clinic before offering you an appointment 😅, everything should go smoothly from now on 👌👍

Thanks for that Dooby Doo I hope it will be smooth sailing from now.

Hi Welcome. Re: your onboarding, I had the exact same thing ( Alternaleaf). My first appt was with a nurse, second with a doctor. I didnt get 15 mins with either, I even had about 3 questions on a post-it note (that i couldnt find answers for on their site or FAQ) that there was no time to ask in my screening appt and I had said at the beginning and end I had Qs. My initial appt was rushed and a tad frantic, I would get cut off a lot too, I absolutely did not get listened to fully that was for sure and seemed like a box-ticking exercise (made me even think, does anyone actually get turned down????). That you got rushed through it in the first appt, dont be put off. Just jump their hoops. It seems that "meetings" are stacked at their end in 15 min blocks with a hard stop so they can get to the next one. I am not slagging off my clinic either, overall it seems ok so far I am three months in.

Can I give you some advice... At your doctor appt, if you proceed that is, click this https://medbud.wiki/pharmacies/ips-pharma/

The pharmacy that I think Medicann use is IPS, according to the Medicann page on this site. Scout out exactly what you would like to be prescribed. You can see the price, the complete breakdown of its profile and strength, review links, everything. I did. If I hadn't, the Dr was suggesting this and that I didnt want. So then I started with the list and I got what I asked for. You control the outcome of that appt, armed with info and a stocklist!!!! Its your money and these meds aint cheap! See ya

Medicann use a reserved subset of the IPS formulary. It's visible on their MedBud entry which is also searchable 8). Take a look here, run by our very own @TheGreenAvenger https://thegreenavenger.uk/

GreenSeer thanks for your message and sharing your experience buddy. Yeah these clinics get lots of positive and negative feedback from patients Im just hoping I will end up feeling good about taking this first step. It does take some courage from someone with health conditions to go through the process of becoming a patient so I respect everyone here. Also thanks for the appointment tips I will keep note of this. And the info about formulary is really useful as well thanks for that (OldBloke, TheGreenAvenger thank you all 🫡). Im a geek when it comes to genetics so feeling quite confident discussing treatments with the doc. I will be hiding in my hermit shell untill then 🦀🐚 See you.

Just a quick update, the clinic put my mind at ease and they are actually pretty solid. And thanks again for your messages and support it means a lot. Im looking forward to sharing my thoughts and discussing treatments and medication with other patients on MedBud. Currently just learning and exploring the place at the moment. Also it looks like I will be trying to figure out how to add a 'verified patient' badge here on MedBud 😅 this place is such a great resource for patients, people who run it are absolute legends.

Great news they have put your mind at ease and verification will be no problem as all you'll need to do is upload proof of being a patient and this varies from a letter with confirmation of patients status or a pic of your meds label and most commonly it will be a pic of your prescription sent to access@medbud.wiki but rest assured it will be no problem at all(y)

keep yer head down & plough thru, to be honest they only want access to your Med data, once that clears you go shopping !
