Hello Community,

I was approved for UK medicinal a few weeks ago and have been prescribed by Curaleaf and am booked in for my first review appointment toward the end of the week.

I have personally tried out the Lunar Circus, Royal Moby and Lavender Cake for my first prescription and I want to share my experience with you and welcome your comments or suggestions.

Effect on me:
  • Calming and warming body sensation (me and my mates always called this sensation a 'stoner jacket').
  • No mental easing effects, I think this is due to 7% THC being low compared to what my tolerances are used to.

Why:
I wanted to see if the 7% CBD would help with inflammation.

Did it help?
Over the past week I have noticed significant improvements with experience of inflammation after using this strain but not used it long enough or tried any of it's competitive strains to say whether I love this or not at this time.

Would I re-order:
Not at this time no, I would look for another strain to test to compare it against and would be interested in selecting one with high CBD, but also maintaining a good THC percentage too, I think 7% THC was too low for me and I think that the flower lacked terpenes which are important for my experience.

Effect on me:
  • Helps support an already good mindset, I found this good for morning or midday.
  • No sedative affect here for me.
  • Terpenes come out nicely from this and successfully helped relieve anxiety for me even with the vape powered off (raw inhale, no heat).

Why:
Dr's suggestion, Sativa should be good for creativity and spurring on an already positive mindset.

Did it help?
Over the past week I have noticed that this strain can have uplifting effects for me but while I say that I also noticed that the affects are mild compared to most BM counterparts which I have tried.

Would I re-order:
I have re-ordered this strain!

Effect on me:
  • Slightly sedative but not enough, it's going in right direction but my tolerance must be too high.
  • Not into these terpenes, at first it smells good and exciting bag appeal, I was super surprised and happy but later found out it wasn't up to my standard and it let me down a little and popped my bubble. as the Indica was the most important flower to me.

Why:
Dr's suggestion, Indica should be good to help me sleep at night, frazzle the negative thoughts and unwind the mind.

Did it help?
Over the past week I have noticed that this strain can have mild sedative affects that I wish were stronger and I have missed Indica the most since switching to this new medicinal system.

Would I re-order:
I don't think I could order this strain again, however I must say I mixed it with the Lunar Circus and the affects of the two combined was genuinely healing for my mind and body.

Hey welcome and thanks for the thoughtful strain reviews.

Also with Curaleaf for mental health. Briefly, in my experience Tripoli is good for sleep but has a terrible aftertaste; Wedding Pop Triangle is a decent smooth daytime strain; Death Bubba tastes good but expensive for a low THC; Sudz also tastes nice for daytime; Farm Gas quite strong sedative with unusual flavour, buds very dry and dense.

Still searching for that favourite strain. Annoyed that no non-irradiated flower available in their formulary at the moment.

Welcome to the Community @ftrftgatp420 rftgatp420 thanks for the feedback. I’ve not tried 2 of the strains you've mentioned but hope you get to find the strains that work well for you. We have all gone through the process of trying different strains for our health conditions and trying to find the right strains can be a bit tricky at times. When we do and go to put it on our script again its sold out 😂😂. Not always 😉

Welcome to the community!

Thanks for writing these reviews, I love the format and would love to see your thoughts as you continue through your MC Journey.

This place is a gold mine for information so I'd really suggest asking/reading to get some prepared strains in mind for your next appointment.

There is lots of good strains out there but admittedly Curaleaf has a ropey reputation for overly dry and muted flower.

The High Silver (Super Silver Haze) is a really nice morning/daytime flower. I myself am a fan. The Tripoli is also well loved as a strain that punched above their weight.

There are better flowers away from Curaleaf but I'd really recommend those two from within the Curaleaf range.

Welcome once again! Enjoy your evening.

Hi PitaPata,

Thank you for the reply. I will definitely take a look at the strains you've mentioned before my next appointment. Have you tried any of the strains I've mentioned and if so did any of your experiences differ much to mine mentioned above?

Hi Dooby Doo, thank you for your reply. How did you feel about the two I've mentioned which you've already tried, was it a similar experience to mine or different?

Hi joint_account,

Thanks for the formatting appreciation, I do take pride in my documentation style and appreciate your kind words.

I find that writing these reviews helped me understand things better for myself too and would encourage everyone to share their experiences with the community as we are all in this together.

Thank you for these recommendations, I will be sure to take a look into them and potentially try them soon.

When you say Curaleaf is known for dried and muted flower, do you recommend a competitor to Curaleaf offering a wider range of less muted flower, if so would you mind letting me know the name of it? I'd be keen to find out more after my initial 4 months with Curaleaf. Apologies for my ignorance, total newb with this.

Welcome once again @ftrftgatp420 after our brief little chat earlier and as mentioned above thanks for the thoughtful reviews and it's great to see you've had a reasonable first month on MC .
Once again welcome to the forum👏
Thanks for the welcome!

You can certainly see the effort you've put in and like you say it's very easy to understand and flow with. Big up for that. I tend to waffle on so I appreciate someone who can structure what they're trying to say.

I'm terms of curaleaf, as a clinic they're fine. Little restrictive compared to others but that's not a bad thing.

Their flower specifically, I can't say it's ever blown me away. They do some decent bits for the money at the low end but for the most part patients look towards the likes of 4C Labs if you want a similar price point.

Then if you want something more premium then you're looking at Craft Botanics (owned by Montu/ Alternaleaf), Aurora®, Lot420, Green Karat, DoE, Peace Naturals® (Help me out here guys! 😂).

In terms of strains, I guess the question is what do you want your weed to do for you?

Grow have some good strains that come about and I've just tried the Craft N°3 Botanics I think by Contourage and this has worked for me the last few weeks, that's just expired which is a pity as I would have had more of this at the reduced price from £7.50g down to £52.50g.

Just to prevent confusion @Dooby Doo wasn't it the SUMO Craft no3 Garlic Chem you had and this is something different to Craft Batonics mate which is Gelonade , Georgia Pie and White Runtz🙃

Yes it was the SUMO Craft N°3, why i thought it was Batonitcs strain 🤷, I've not had any of them strains 😂

You are far more eloquent with your reviews lol !
Welcome and very best of luck on your MC journey (y)

I agree that the Lunar Circus showed potential but maybe at 12:12 or 15:15 to use as a calming med through the day. The Lavender Cake was nowhere near as relaxing as I would have liked for my night time..

Onwards and upwards..
