If there is so much nostalgia for classic strains like cheese, northern lights etc then why isn't there more of them available?

It puzzles me ( i am easily puzzled to be fair:rolleyes:) but I see a new strain pop up and look at the lineage and it seems like most are a X of two already X strains

I reckon some of it may be that the middle aged lot who experienced these strains have now got a voice and want to see these strains on medical where feasible and grown by be the better producers and I reckon as they have become aware of the demand for these products we've started to see more and more and there has been a pick up this year on medical I'd say in this direction (y)

The problem with Cheese is it was never available in seed form to preserve so is a clone only strain so many claim to have the original cut/plant but... we'll see😅

I certainly think the interest shown recently amongst the Medical Community for Cheese, Northern Lights and alike will only encourage suppliers to seek out more of these strains going forward🤞

It’s a bit like crisps… they have the 3 popular flavours that everyone likes then every now and then they throw a curve ball and test the market with an odd flavour. But they always keep that foundation of the most popular varieties.

It feels like the flower growers just keep trying different odd flavours but have no foundation 🤷

I think it's just not grown for us bro. In many cases I feel we get the cast offs from Canada, Germany, elsewhere. It does surprise me though the likes of Dalgety choose strains such as Korean BBQ, and High Society, when a UK grown Cheese would absolutely fly out, but they have their priorities I suppose. Equally strange for me is Cookies don't sell the stains they are famed for. I've never heard of Hawiian Rain so it got a pass from me, but a legit Gelato 41 or Girl Scout Cookies? I may have been tempted! But again, is that what they are famous for worldwide, or just here in the UK? I think there are around 110,000 registered UK patients, last time I checked, and in the USA there were around 4 million registered medical users in 2023. God knows how many unregistered/rec. Then in Canada, in 2024, 26% aged 16 and older reported using cannabis in the past 12 months. So the Canadian market is potentially, what, in the region of 10 million people? I know who I would be growing for. DOE did try to throw us a bone to be fair with the Jack Herer, I know many UK patients are familiar with the strain and have been using it for years if not decades, but with mould issues and disgusting comments from the CEO, they won't be getting my money.
