Hey Medbuddies,
I just wanted to share my thoughts on the devices I've had extended experience with. Hopefully if anyone's shopping around this might help point you in the right direction. These are purely my own views based on my own experience. I always favour one hit extraction, I run diffusers over injectors where possible, and I medicate pretty constantly so keep that in mind when reading. My use case might not line up with yours.
5. Stainless Steel Thermal Twist
☆☆☆☆
Temp: 330c |
Glass: 11" Recycler or Globe Bubbler with 1.5cm ID whip
The airflow is restricted and the hits can be harsh. I prefer diffusers anyway so it was always going to be a tough sell. That said the price vs slap ratio is genuinely impressive. For £120 this will hit you hard, and if you let it heat soak on a bowl for a few minutes the hits can be monsterous. I don't think there's much difference between balls or a metal thermal mass outside of smoothness, results seem identical.
The real value play is the upgrade path. The Ruby Twist head is £69, so buying the Thermal at £120 and upgrading to the Ruby head later gets you both devices for £189. Best value transition out there imo.
4. Ruby Twist

☆☆☆
Temp: 282c |
Glass: 11" Recycler
The Thermal's big brother at £180. Same airflow issue but noticeably smoother. Outside of the airflow there's genuinely nothing to complain about, this thing will blow your socks off regardless of tolerance. You can hack it into a traditional injector ball vape and it performs really well that way, just not how I vape. Not much between this and the Thermal honestly, it just edges it on smoothness.
3. Flowerpot B-Zero

☆☆
Temp: 329c |
Glass: 11" Recycler
One of the best injectors I've tried for airflow. Hits insanely hard and was in near daily rotation until recently. I prefer diffusers but I can't think of how you'd improve the injector experience beyond this.
Easy and cheap to get into as well, especially if you own one of the aforementioned twists. Grab the OEM replacement head from AliExpress or DHgate for around £30, add balls for another £20 and you've got a full build compatible with your existing coil, PID, glass and stand for around £50. One heads up -- you'll need special pliers to assemble it with the balls, about £5 on Amazon but it delayed my build by a day. If you're buying from CH go through a vendor or grab the Chinese OEM, you'll save a lot and get the same thing + the CH owner is a top tier cunt.
2. TIODW Mini 2.0

☆
Temp: 305c |
Glass: 11" Recycler
Everything I wanted the WoHW to be from a performance standpoint. Raw wired power with both injector and diffuser options. Smooth, effortless and cloudy as anything. Paired with the TIODW Ti Bowl it becomes a beast, thick cloudy one hit extractions that really get you between the eyes. Hits incredibly hard, maybe just a touch behind the Screwball.
Worth knowing the diffuser is 23mm where most are 22mm so you may have compatibility issues with other bowls. Injector is standard 18mm. My full build cost: head £28, coil £25, handle £9, balls £8, Ti Bowl £31. Around £100 total and it matches up to almost anything in the B+ tier. Built purely for function over form but I'd rather that than the reverse.
Honourable Mention -- WoHW V2

☆
Temp: 280c
| Glass: Globe Bubbler with 1.5cm ID whip
If I still owned this it would sit at #2 ahead of the Mini 2. Better all round package, great stand, easy PID, plenty to love. However the cooldown effects of wireless are real. Within a couple of hits the temp drops massively and it needs reseating for a few minutes before using again. Fine for casual use but if you're medicating constantly it becomes a pain. I've seen the new wired adapter but from what I've read the power gains are nothing compared to a proper wired setup. Think wired vs Bluetooth earphones -- a direct line will always win on power delivery. The Mini 2 would be well ahead if it were a more polished product, but the WoHW edges it as an overall package. Just not for my use case.
1. Vapvana Screwball

Temp: 255c |
Glass: Globe Bubbler with 1.5cm ID whip
Not close. Favourite device I've ever used for flower, nothing has got me higher with such ease. The unique head design means no dark rings, no inconsistent spots, just completely open and effortless airflow. The shallower but wider bowl seems to cook bud more efficiently and I get a dark brown consistent roast every time. Build quality is premium and it shows. If the B-Zero is endgame injector, the Screwball might just be endgame diffuser. Top 2-3 overall, only thing I'd put above it is the UBv2. Diffuser only but that's exactly why the airflow works the way it does.
Hopefully this might help someone come to a decision on what to purchase next. Happy to help wherever I can if anyone ever has any questions or troubles.
