Morning all!

Another day in crazy town! Hope everyone is bearing up under the strain of daily life in the mad house, every day is a new slap the forehead moment! Starting to look like Rocky from the film Mask I have slapped myself that much. Anyway, my mate is looking to get off his pain meds but is fairly dependent on them at the moment to have any sort of life, even though they dont stop his pain completely. He has some pretty complex issues going on with his spinal chord and would need some solid advice from a Dr who knew what they were talking about to ensure he wasn't just being used as a cash cow and making his condition or quality of life worse. Can anyone advise on a clinic with doctors who may have relevant knowledge or who will be there for the continued support required to get things right. Would appreciate folks input or advice based on experience of similar situations. Ta.

Most clinics should have pain specialists, I don't think there would be any dedicated back specialists around but that doesn't mean there aren't doctors with a background in that area. I guess what I'm saying is that most clinics should have someone with a solid enough understanding to help your mate out.

In terms of continued support and being a pain patient my first instinct would be to recommend Curaleaf - Don't really get much more doctors input from any other clinic. If the restrictions on choosing what you have are a bit to restrictive then CB1 Medical could be another good option, they're more patient led in their approach but their doctors are usually very involved in the process if you need them to be.

I would avoid Medicann, as good as they are your friend will be given no help or support and they will never actually communicate with a doctor.

Consider Airmed as well, they're relatively new on the scene but a recent industry darling in @KarenGray has gone to work there, and anywhere she works will have a good standard of patient care given her moral compass.

Cheers pal. Appreciate your comment, I had just asked the AI beast its opinion and it came up with Airmed as having a speciliast spinal injury doctor on its team. Will check them out. Agree with the Medicann statement, I am with them, and it suits me fine but wouldn't recommend my mate as his needs are quite specific and will require him to be able to maintain good contact with a doctor. Will check Airmed out now. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I believe that is Dr Hanna Gul from looking at their website.

I hope it goes well for your mate, you'll have to let us know how they get on with AM.

Dr Elie Okirie is the name I was given by the machine.... So means that there are a few to give good advice. Plus Elies name sounds like an old rasta giving the good vibes, OK Irie! So I will take that as a good omen. 😎
