Just a small update on this, Medicann have already contacted me to discuss appointments, considering I submitted the application less than 12 hours ago and on a Sunday I'm a little bit shocked. It was barely 8AM.

Who told you to destroy it and have you already done so? - that's typically advised against until the investigation has completed and either a) they have it to destroy or b) it was never collected so can be destroyed post investigation. You've definitely done the right thing in reporting it...
