Still Deciding
My father is going downhill. He's had osteoarthritis for years (hips, knees, back) but recently following a fall it has become worse. He's already on Tramadol, but the pain is now keeping him awake - sometimes all night. I'm looking for something that would help him to live with the pain, and more importantly get some sleep; I believe he'll deal with the pain so much better if he can sleep. The big question for me is, is it advisable to work with medicinal cannabis in an 86 year old. I know for sure a nice Indica could give him some peace, but from experience it can also be a bit crunchy as it takes effect. What is the general advice here - is there an age limit? Have octogenarians been prescribed before? I'd appreciate any advice before pursuing. Thank you.

I think that would really be a discussion to have with the prescribing clinician and taking into consideration any other treatments and medications he is on to assess drug interactions. Personally I find a T25/C25 oil excellent for helping me to sleep. THC only oil did not help me sleep. My mother is 75 and using a THC oil in the daytime for parkinsons (it works better than her NHS meds) and my stepfather is using a T12.5/C12.5 oil at night to help with back and hip pain. He's finding it very helpful. They are both using very small doses as they have no built up tolerance and have reported no ill effects other than a touch of the munchies. Definitely worth pursuing IMO

Maybe try him with the oral oils, instead of bud. Age shouldn't come into it, but smaller doses would possibly be best option 💜🌻
