Still Deciding
I've gone through Alternaleaf process as a payg and they are saying it will take 2 weeks to go through the MDT process, the meeting with the Psch was awful and I don't want to continue with them but they have sent me an invoice, despite not having any progress. I'm feeling stuck as I don't want to keep waiting and the communication with them has not been good so I don't feel any sense of assurance that this company is going to work out well at all. I want to move to CB1 Medical or some other clinic that is better but feel like I am caught in their system. Its been such a lot of output to get nowhere so far. I got throught to someone on the phone and she agreed to discharge me but couldn't verify if I would be held liable for the invoice.

That sounds like it's been a bad start to MC for you and 2 weeks sounds like an awful long time and many places do the MDT within a day or two and maybe the 14 days is said to cover their backsides and it could be a lot quicker .
You are free to apply elsewhere if you choose but you may need a discharge letter id you have been prescribed but any clinic you apply to will instruct you further on this and what is needed , if you need any help with clinics just ask and we'll let you know from our experiences of each (y)

Thank you, I was going to go with CB1 Medical as they are lower cost but now I am curious about medican, as I was signing in to Medicann it said I already have an account and then the CB1 branding sent me the password on email, are they the same company? Or is it that they use the same software?

They both use Script assist and I've come across this as my wife is at CB1 and when I used Newgrove Pharmacies app(script assist )all hell broke loose😅
CB1 should be free as you may be classed as a transferring patient so no £50 possibly as you've been prescribed:unsure:

Ah its so good to not be puzzling this out alone... So, if Alternaleaf do press me for the payg fee and I pay it, I should be able to transfer to another clinic even if I haven't received any medication from them? I think I was thinking I didn't want to get hooked into their monthly membership and lose £120 if it didn't work out...They have sent me an invoice and a reminder since I called them an hour ago, having gone very quiet for the last 10 days until I called to ask what was happpeing and ask to be discharged. There was I thinking they wanted to help people...😭

Is that an invoice for a prescription and if so then you are a legal patient but your still able to leave at anytime ,if it's for a joining fee and you have not had your consultation with a doctor and choose your meds then you are not a patient yet and you'd be free to do as you please anyway as you have not yet joined them .

Its an invoice for a consultation that was pretty awful, I asked to be discharged but am now reconsidering on your insights, to not be discharged and wait for the first script even though the Psch didn't hear what I wanted and there was no follow up as he'd suggested there would be. All feels very messy right now. I've booked first appointmet for assessment with Medicann next Tuesday and waiting to hear back about cancelling this Alternaleaf consultation invoice. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, its massively helping me to navigate what to do, maybe one day I'll actually get through a system and access some meds.

You have my sympathies as it it can get confusing at the onboarding to MC stage and I probably would go through with the first bit the assess your options if it meant I would receive meds sooner which is possible and the fee you will be paying is small and doesn't tie you in long term 🙏

Thanks, I just spoke to AL and withdrew my discharge and they are logging my feedback, apparently. They are sending me the formulary a week late and say I need a second consultation that I hopefully won't have to pay for once I've paid this initial £39 payg fee, hopefully then I can use some of the knowledge I've been gathering from you folks to request a flower for anxiety . They are saying the second part of the checks is due this week, I was lead to believe that process was just a few days but I can live with it if I can get through with a script at the end of it and like you say I can then move on to another clinic.

No worries ,
I actually didn't realise it was £39 and thought it lower and you will be able to decide from a position of strength once you have your meds and decide what suits you best the as the some clinics focus on cost cutting with minimal time with the doc whilst others are more considered and have a longer consultations etc and whilst one clinic may suit one person it may not another as is often the case but you have time on your side now to evaluate it .

Best of luck with it all as you are now a patient and one way or another things will get up to speed 🙏

everyone should stay away from Alternaleaf and Montu they are the best example of dishonest lying profiteers who should be De licensed from any care profession. use at your peril. Stick to the streets until legalization.
This place is full of many of people who used the streets for years but have chosen to go the legal route for various reasons and some see it as a compromise whilst others have found amazing relief on Medical as many do not have the options on BM that many others do .
