We're going to add view rankings for multiples types of listings across our platform, including medications, clinics and pharmacies.

ie. "5th Most Viewed Medication Past X Days"

Rankings will be automatically updated daily, and displayed at the top of each page.

How many days view history should be used for the rankings?

every month makes most sense to me, lets see what everyone votes :)

The thing making me consider shorter periods, is that the top listings do change week-to-week at times.

On one hand it would be nice to reflect the weekly fluctuations, on the other hand as you suggest some will want longer periods where you get more stable/representative views over time.

There is the possibility of having different periods for different listings, as in I feel most strongly flower should be updated perhaps every 7 days, whereby I'd argue more for 30 days for clinic/pharmacy listings.

Keen to see other's thoughts.

newer strains won't have time to be properly assessed within a week i'd imagine thats why I was thinking more along the lines of monthly to give every strain a fair shot

Maybe the option to view both 30 day and 7 day

Superseed range for example... I strongly believe they are no1 right now just most of us havent yet tried it due to price/availability

For sure, and sometimes the top viewed are actually new unreleased strains that just have a lot of interest - that's the kind of thing I think will be the most useful insight overall.

Maybe the option to view both 30 day and 7 day
This is a possibility for sure.

of the week & of the month would solve this quite quickly tbf lol best of both worlds

The issue at-hand isn't displaying different versions, it's just that we need to settle on one metric/type for the top viewed header on listings.

Here's some pragmatic examples for everyone (excuse the basic formatting, code is in a basic stage at the moment).

Ordering is: Medications > Clinics > Pharmacies > YouTubers

Past 7 Days:

Past 14 Days:

Past 30 Days:

Medicann no1 <3 haha

Just another bump for more feedback, it seemed like 14 days seemed most popular at first, then 30 days overtook. I'll try wait for a bit more feedback before finalising.

This is a really good idea, I think view rankings could be a useful way to spot what’s generating interest and give patients a sense of trends they might otherwise miss. A shorter window like 7 to 14 days is good for spotting sudden changes, but I’d personally say 30 days works best. It gives a fairer picture and stops the charts from swinging too quickly based on one week’s hype. A longer window shows what people are consistently interested in, which is probably more useful to patients in the long run.

The only thing I’d flag is that views do not always equal quality. A clinic, pharmacy, or strain might get a spike in views because of novelty or marketing, not because it works well or has reliable supply. It could also create a loop where "most viewed" just keeps attracting more clicks.

That’s why I think this feature would be perfect for strains too, even though the metrics will need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Patients care most about the actual strain they’re using, so combining popularity data with other measures like reported outcomes, supply stability, or even cost would give a much clearer and fairer picture.
