I struggle with anxiety quite a bit. Last time i smoked cannabis was around 10 years ago, i mainly used it because i loved the "stoned" feeling where i felt relaxed and could do things like listen to music and watch movies whilst high, also having the munchies lol, it all always felt more enjoyable to me . I found sometimes when i smoked it would make me overthink a lot and cause me lots of worry and paranoia, because of this i stopped all together but i really miss the feeling of being able to relax after i smoked.
I was a very light smoker and just 1 gram would last me a week, it was not something i use everyday, just when i felt i needed a break. I have read that MC is different to BM and i am worried the effects won't be the same. What strains would you guys recommend i buy, ideally i am looking for something that will help with anxiety and overthinking, helping me relax when i vape it but also if i were to inhale it at a higher temperature would recreate the effects i get from BM cannabis, ie that stoned feeling, but without all the uncertainty that comes with unregulated flower. Thankyou
The sudz would be a good place to start as it's 17% THC but the taste, smell and the effects are really good. It is very mood lifting and good for anxiety.
The bubble bath is good for anxiety as well. There are loads of others as well but they are a lot stronger than these that are good for anxiety.
When I have Sativas it makes me overthink and not very relaxed so I nearly always use Indicas as they help me with everything pain, sleep and mood and that's why I prefer medical cannabis to black market because I can choose 8 different types of the right flower each month

You sound a lot like me. I also vape cannabis for anxiety (but also depression), but also enjoy the effects of being "high" when I want to.
For me, I'm not sure if there's any particular strain yet that consistently takes the edge off my anxiety more than others, but the two big factors which do seem to take the edge off it are:
1) The legal aspect. I long suspected that when I'd get a spike in anxiety from cannabis that, at least some of the time, it was tied up with or exacerbated by the fact that I was consuming and under the influence of an illegal drug. So, just the fact that the cannabis I consume is now legally prescribed is, itself, by far the biggest difference in its boosting its effect as an anxiolytic and reducing the occurrence of paranoia/peaking anxiety.
2) The consistent use. Like you, when I was BM my usage was relatively light. I was always a vaper, never a smoker, so with the efficiency of the vape + the illegality and need for discretion, etc, I simply didn't use as much and could make a few grams last a long while, and only really have vape sessions a handful of times a week or once a day at most. But there is definitely a link between the size of the gaps between your doses and the likelihood of any particular dose peaking your anxiety, and I find that with consistent daily use like any other medication you build up an equilibrium and tolerance with it which then makes it very difficult to take it "too far".
3) Lower temperatures. My first consultant at Curaleaf mentioned that keeping the vape temperature lower makes it less likely to get negative side effects, and I think there's something to be said for it to be honest. Although having said that there are some terpenes known for anxiolytic effect which don't vaporise until the 200-210s, so perhaps its worth exploring the high temps anyway.
Generally 2) and 3) are both dealt with just by having a larger prescription and more consistent supply than you did during BM use. Having the cannabis to go through consistently and keeping temperatures low but just using more makes a big differences.
I'm also highly sensitive to taste, to the extent that if I really don't like the taste and it gives my bad imagery (too chemically/burnt rubber/etc) then it can send me the wrong way, so for that reason I gravitate away from non-natural tasting strains and prefer stuff that really gets across the planty, weedy, fresh, refreshing, horticultural goodness that cannabis is, which for me means lots of citrusy/fruity/piney/minty/etc, type strains.
I've now tried strains between 20-28% and I can't say I've noticed that it makes any appreciable difference to either effectiveness or likelihood or peaking anxiety, and I'm still working out what terpene profiles/lineages work best for me, so no real conclusions there yet.
My favourites so far have been Curaleaf High Silver and Green Gelato, Glass Pharms Wedding Cake, and 4C Labs Chemnesia Haze.
But it is a highly personal thing. Some people with anxiety swear they can't touch Sativa's, whereas I love them, etc. So the best approach is to make sure you're with a clinic with few restrictions so you can try out different strains and slowly work out for yourself what's best for you.
I got anxiety - and it tends to be the t30/31 meds that help the most so Atomic sour grapefruit (forum favourite), space cake, cosmic cream, gmo cookies.
The pave is my favourite strain on here. I also really like peanut butter souffle,Georgia pie, atomic sour grapefruit, pink diesel, and cosmic cream but there are loads of others
