Hi everyone!

I’m kiekie7031, new here 😊

I’ve been dealing with anxiety and depression for years. NHS prescription meds gave me awful side effects, including very negative thoughts (won’t go into detail, but I’m sure you can imagine). After years of self-medicating successfully, I’ve decided to try the medical cannabis route for a more structured approach.

I’m signed up with Releaf Clinic and am allocated 30g per month. They’ve chosen Grape Kush and Orange Dream for me—both share terpenes I’ve tried before that worked well. You can’t pick your strains with the clinic, but I’m happy with their choice.

I’m waiting on delivery tomorrow for the strains and my WOLKENKRAFT FX MINI ULTR vaporiser, and I’m excited to see how it all goes!

Has anyone else used Releaf Clinic, these strains, or this vaporiser? Any tips, experiences, or advice would be really appreciated!

Welcome @Kiekie7031

Releaf are typically shunned by many in the community but there are a few patients who are members I believe.

I can't help with meds as I'm a little unfamiliar with their formulary. And going ,3 for 3 I'm unfamiliar with the DHV as well. I know its for good reviews but no personal experience.

welcome once again!

Welcome to the forum @Kiekie7031 and we don't have much feedback on the strains you have been prescribed but we do have a short video of the Grape Kush below where the reviewer left the following comment so not much to go off but I hope it helps a bit.

They do a Tangerine Boost that we are familiar with but this could be a different cultivar.

Hi @Kiekie7031 and welcome to the forum. It’s usually an advantage to have previously used black market (BM) and had some success medically like you have 👍. This will give you a really good idea of how much to use and what sort of effects work best for you. Strain videos and feedback are always a good guide but your previous experience will also help you find the best strains for you.

Releaf are at one end of the spectrum as far as clinics go, probably along with Curaleaf and a couple of others in that they like to have more clinical control over their patients (what you can have and how much / price control/ formulary restrictions etc). This works well for some patients but not for others. I’m with Curaleaf and after 6 months will be moving to a less restrictive clinic. Hope that helps, good luck 🤞🏽

Hey, so would you say 6 months would be the sweet spot before changing a clinic?

Hey, @MC Overgrow would you say to wait at least 6 months before jumping to a new clinic? Or could I do it sooner? As I think with Releaf it’s going to work out quite at expensive at £40 a month for the membership then fees for medication on top.

Hi @Kiekie7031, I’ve waited 6 months because I couldn’t really work out what I needed in terms of clinical support so I opted for safety first as I have a brain tumour. Turns out that I don’t really need too much if any clinical input from my cannabis clinic so I feel safe to move now. Some clinics will try to make it hard for you to move so look at your t&c.. Other members will be along who will advise on best alternative clinics to consider

AFAIK it would only be your personal circumstance - say financial if you can't afford to switch right now, I'm not aware that you can be locked into something when it's medical.

If you want to move you should be able to move at any time; I've moved clinics and it was just a matter of getting a discharge letter from the previous (which they have to give you on request) and giving it to the new clinic.

The new clinic allowed a first month's script order before getting the discharge letter to ensure I didn't go without meds whilst between the clinics. (Don't request discharge until accepted by new clinic to be safe)

Welcome to the Community @Kiekie7031

I would run from Releaf before they get more money from you.

They have a tiny formulary of dead crap (I ended up throwing away close to 30g because it had no effect whatever on me). They also charged me £75 for a £30 branded Curaleaf cartridge and actually laughed at me when I called them out on it.

They ended up with over £500 of my money with zero usable advice, guidance, care or relief about/from the medication they prescribed. Curaleaf are cheaper but wasn't right for me, because I'd invested in devices for their carts and then they discontinued them and tried to make me rebuy the new equipment and cartridges, so I ended up with Medicann and haven't looked back.

I’ll start looking in to other clinics in that case, thanks for the heads up

Integro are good. I'm with them and never had any issue with them. Meds get shipped quickly, generally arrive very quickly. Portal is a bit hit and miss at times and there seems to be a slight difference between the availability list on here and what they have on the portal. But saying that they had a flower I wanted set to order when required and I added it to basket last week and this week it's in stock, which might be a coincidence or maybe not. But if you have any issues shoot the office an email and it generally gets sorted same day. Oh and if you get Dr Ahsan, he's definitely on point with everything.

If it was me and I assume you already had your consultations, i'd get you first scrip done and then discharge. At least you walk away with something to tide you over. Yes it might not be the greatest stuff ever, but I'm of the mind that anything is better than nothing, but I'd also be tempted to just grab one of the strains and tell them I couldn't afford three strains that month. Then get the discharge letter after you have some flower in hand and move somewhere else. It's up to you.
