UK Man jailed after cannabis plants found at property

Its about time we as medical patients were able to grow our own medicine. At the end of the day, its just a plant.

Dude had 126 plants, that’s not for personal. I agree we should be able to grow but it’ll unlikely happen. It’s due to it being for medical use and has to be clean to a certain level of bacteria etc. Because of this what you will grow would need inspection etc, never going to happen. Our best hope is decriminalisation as with Spain then you are good to go.

The downside to places like Spain, is whats happening now. Lots of raids & police arrests.

Albeit I agree, 126 plants is WAY above personal ( I couldn’t read it as it wouldn’t load ) 2-3 plants most definitely wouldnt be worth growing for profit & medical cannabis patients should be able to consume their own.

Even with something along the lines of allotments, where they could teach you?

Just throwing out ideas. I understand none of this is likely to ever happen. Would just be cool.

From my understanding it’s just because of the tourists smoking that an issue has arise. I think it worked something like this, decriminalisation meant that you could grown your own, instead of growing your allotted amount for personal use you could sign up to a club and they would grow your allowance for you. For us decriminalisation would mean we can grow, without that it will have to be grown to a medical level of cleanliness which means it will never happen, they could also change the rules on the cleanliness of the flower which would make it possible but there are people on here that need the irradiation to make it safe for them. It’s very complex when you think about it. Hopefully decriminalisation is the next step, just need politicians that are forward thinking, attitudes have changed hugely over the past 20 years, I think it’s just a matter of time. Who ever thought it would be legal in the puritanical U.S.?

This conversation has reminded me of this, enjoy the words of the great Howard Marks on why it was criminalised in the first place.
