Hi,
I’m coming to this as a non smoker, non vaper and feel so far out of my depth!

I logiced that a 510 cart was the easiest least complicated AuDHD brain is struggling with all the information.
I was given a script for Curo Grape and Upstate Bluberry Kush.
Logic said getting a vape where I can change the voltage would mean that I had more control once I knew what I was doing…

So my sensible questions:
  1. How do I decide what voltage to use?
    • Should the voltage different between the two cartridges?
      • I thought I could find the info on the packet, but I might be being dim!
    • Is there any benefit to using a low voltage?
      • Do you get through it more slowly or does it just mean that it’s not effective?
    • Are different voltages used for different effects?
      • Trying to help AuDHD or CFS or sleep or pain or muscle relaxation
  2. Other than the convenience of a cartridge for not being identified as MC is there any benefit of cartridges over other methods?
  3. Does using a pre heat on a cartridge use up anything other than the battery or does it not do anything unless you actually breathe it in?
  4. And if you are an ADHD person where caffeine normally calms you rather than getting the buzz does it affect you differently if you’re on MC?
I have spent so many years on various tablets and I knew what does what…
But with this I just feel so stupid and it feels hard to research and find the simple idiot level answers!
Don’t get me wrong I’d love to understand the hard things too, but at the moment I’m at working with the two cartridges I have and trying to get the best out of them!
I figure I have a month to understand these before having to figure out either different strains or methods!!

Honestly I don’t think any answer will be too simple…
And any help will be appreciated

Thanks
F

I shall attempt to answer your questions in layman terms. I'm also a newbie to vaping and carts, but have nigh on approx. 40 yrs of knowledge and practical experience of flower production and personal consumption on the BM and more recently 2 yrs as a MC patient with Releaf and Medicann UK clinics. Note* subjectively this entire subject can be highly opionated and controversial.

1a). I went in after much deliberation with the CCELL M4B PRO 510 battery, purchased 2, 1 for back-up reasons or 247 perpetual vaping on demand and a couple of Clearleaf® Hash Rosin carts to try. (There are different kinds of carts produced using slightly different methods similar to the dried-flower). Its all a bit of a stab in the dark when selecting unknown products. From what I can tell, common vaping administration procedure appears to be is basically starting off on low settings/temps and increasing temps incrementally until either maxing out on the top temps or just simple passing out lol. Apparently, lower temps for some produce more terpenes/flavour and a smoother inhale/exhale experience bit smaller vape clouds. Lots of clicking for different settings on battery device itself, but honestly its easy peasy cheezy lemony squeezy. If stuck go on YouTube or checkoot the brands web for further info, thats what I suggest you do, do, do. Whatever device you get experimentation is the key to ascertain your own likes and identify your chosen preferences to match you indiviual needs. You could work with a consultant from your clinic for further info and advice to build and tailor your MC Rx?

*Top tip: approach this type of medical administration/consumption gradually in degrees to build your own hands-on experience and medical potfolio over a comfortable and relaxed amount of time. Short inhales/exhales or puffs at first set at lower temps and go through the steps for effects, my brother or sistereen!

'Keep It Simples', is the motto! I alsmost splashed oot on some expensive hightech vape device shipped from the United States or Germany or some other mad-up place in the EU. In reflection, I'm glad I didn't this time! I was more sensible an opted for basic, just to see first if i even like it or not.

'All the gear, no idea', jus' popped into my mind - just then. 'Steady Eddie', approach is best.

2b). I'll try a keep this answer shorter lol. Like many things in life, there are many more ways 2 skin a rabbit (not that I would, skin a rabbit or even eat 1 come to think of it). Personally, I prefer the dried-flower products over the carts, just saying. The carts might be a more medically consistant approach in terms of overall product quality and sustainabilty, if that's what's important and you require for your medical palette, whereas the dried-flower is an organic material susceptible to inconsitant variables and fluctuations, storage and remediation issues, brand/grow etc. The carts for me and others are like a short sharpjet fueled boost in a concentrated instant hit, prob good to use for more sedating effects or perhaps even more effective for pain relief patients imo. iiwii. Thats sounds all very NHS lol. The pre-heat thing, I've been using each time I initially turn on batt device just to get the cart to the optimum temp lvls before starting at the lowest temp and then geberally incrementally stepping up in stages until maxed oot, if I feel like it or need it. I only usually have a few vapes here and there, cough my guts oot a bit and turn it off, maybe it'll grow on me or maybe it won't...only time will tell! to be honest, I dnt really like it so far and much prefer the flower. But, early days and others rate it. I'm skeptical and bitter, its my midrange age.

Well, that didn't work. Tryin' 2 kp my answer short n sweet. Twat, I am lol. Failed attempt.

In Summary

My honest answer to summarize would be don't listen to me or anyone else, listen 2 yourself - the answers are within my friend like castles in the sand! For you a non-smoker pt, I'd possibly most probably, definately consider exploring some of the other UK medical products cannabis formats, like oils etc. Or even combining, or using different products at different times of the day based on your own medical treatment for your specific medical conditions. I think that makes sense, I'm neurodiverse by the way and I'm struggling with this new diagnosis.

Anyway, really hope this helps that what I like 2 do

P.s Then there's the Indica Vs Sativa debate 2 gt stuck into...

Welcome to the Community @FidgetB i don't think you can Ajust the Voltage on your device as it looks like its a standard battery with only 1 preset Voltage. If you want Battery with adjustable voltage you need something like a "YOCAN" Kodo or something like that where you have voltage adjustment 👍

Your right about the bags, they are very difficult to handle opening and closing, cheap as chips to buy as they are just a standard pack.

I've been using 510 carts pretty exclusively for four months, and I always have mine on the lowest setting (2.4V for my device) for chronic pain, anxiety, ADHD/AuDHD (undiagnosed currently) and sleep.

For new strains, I take a 3-second rip and then wait at least 15 minutes to assess the effects and decide what time/situation would benefit from that cart.

The only carts I've had where I've had to increase the temp to 2.8V are the Aurora® ones.

The higher the voltage the bigger the rip, so, if like me you use time to measure your doses, you'll get far more medicated with 3-seconds at higher voltage than you would with a lower voltage (I can verify this from the times when I've forgotten to turn mine down after swapping out the Aurora® carts). Preheating uses minimal product, so I always preheat to get a full 3-second hit.

The length a cart will last isn't really tied to voltage. Higher voltage will technically use more, but it will also get you more medicated, so you may not require as many hits throughout the day. Equally, lower voltage use uses less, but you may have to take more hits.

The benefit of carts over flower is how quickly the effects start to take place. I can hit my cart when in severe pain and get relief in less than a minute. For flower, even if I have the dosage capsules already made up, can take 15 minutes or so.

I don't tend to mix caffeine and MC, so I can't comment on that.

If I've missed anything, or you have any other questions, let me know. I'm not an expert (only started in June), but I've tried a fair amount of carts in that time.

I am always amazed how different we are. Just one day of carts for me completely messes up my tolerance and I really need to avoid it when I can, and here you are exclusively using it with good results!

Underlines once again that this medicine needs to come in various formats.

I have found that if I use the same strain too often, it stops being as effective. I stopped using my Aurora® ones for that reason, went back to them a month later and they're back to doing a great job.

That's the same for me with flower actually, that's why I rotate the strains and only use 1 a day, 2 tops.

cart-wise I have 2 Clearleafs and one Aurora® open at the moment... never using the same 2 days in a row

I have two Aurora® and five Clearleaf® currently. All rosin/resin, because I got rid of all my distillate ones.

I do wish there were more options to be honest, but it is what it is.
