Site Updates Public BETA: MedBud's Master Formulary (Advanced Filters for All Medications)

General updates on development of the MedBud platform as a whole.
Now launched in Public BETA for testing and feedback.

We're incredibly proud today to announce the public BETA for what we expect to be the single best tool and most used page across our platform moving forward. MedBud's Master Formulary provides advanced filtering and sorting for all CBPM medications available in the UK, as published on our database. Filtering is currently available for the following fields:
  • Medication Format (Flower, Oils etc.)
  • Availability Status (Main Distributor)
  • Dispensing Pharmacies (Currently Limited to Whatever is on their Formulary, Regardless of In/Out of Stock)
  • Package Price
  • Pence Per Milligram (THC/CBD)
  • THC/CBD
  • Classification (Indica/Sativa)
  • Strains/Cultivars (Including Parent Strains)
  • Irradiation
  • Cultivation Country
  • Packaging Country
  • Brand
  • Producer
  • Expiry Date (Where Known)

We've temporarily stripped back several more advanced features which are still in development, because we feel it's important we get a working version of the tool up as soon as possible for all patients and clinicians - as it's such a vast improvement on our current systems.

Still to follow:
  • Alternate row-based view, more akin to traditional tables on MedBud.
  • Tabs on the grid-based view, showing further details on lineage, terpene profiles, stock levels et cetera.
  • Various other improvements highlighted by our @BETA Testers group which we'll fully document shortly.
Known Issues:
  • Placeholder

We now have a secondary development copy which will be used by our @BETA Testers group to help us finalise our remaining planned features, before they're launched on the main public version of our Master Formulary.

Any and all feedback greatly appreciated 🙌

Had a little play on this before and it's like all the things people have asked for over time in one tool and will really help all of us find strains that will be suited to us without having to divert to other info pages constantly to build the picture of each strain with the filters doing the donkey work. 🙌

Bring it on🙏

Bare with, I've had a slow week on progress having had too much else hit me that needs to be dealt with - I'm looking forward to the quiet weekend, where hopefully all the feedback from our @BETA Testers can start to be actioned.

Hopefully, I'm also exhausted after this week 😅 We've had a ton of good feedback so far, and we believe we should nail this on day one when launched.

@Muiredach just thank you dont know how else to say it.

If it is of any value here are my thoughts:

This looks fantastic, exactly the kind of tool patients have been asking for. Having everything in one place with proper filters will make life so much easier compared to digging around different menus or relying on scraps of info.

A few things that I think could make this a real game changer for patients:
  • Affordability filter – being able to sort by cost per gram or per mg of THC/CBD would make it clear where the real value is.
  • Supply reliability – some way of flagging which meds are consistently available vs. those that come and go. Patients need stability as much as variety.
  • Strain/condition matching – filters or tags based on what patients report them helping with (ADHD, sleep, gut health, pain, etc). Even if it’s based on community feedback, that info would be huge.
  • Patient ratings or notes – quick feedback on effectiveness, side effects, or consistency, so patients can share lived experience alongside the raw data.
  • “Last updated” tag – knowing when a product’s info/menu was last refreshed would help cut through the confusion.
  • Lineage / cross-brand links – if two products are basically the same flower under different names, being able to spot that could save patients a lot of money and guesswork.
  • Wishlist / tracker – an option to follow a strain and get notified if it comes back in stock would be a lifesaver for stability.
If even a few of these made it in alongside the filters you’ve already shown, it would set a whole new standard for transparency and patient empowerment. Really looking forward to seeing this launched.

Quite a few more updates this weekend:

Bare with me for a full response going through each bit, still have quite a few bits of feedback from our @BETA Testers group to get through too that's equally in-depth. Actually hoped to make more progress than I have this weekend, but a ton of progress made nonetheless.

I'm going to put all feedback into a list shortly, and also post a public checklist of bits required to finish before launch (y)

Original post updated, now launched in public BETA 🎉 Incredibly excited to let patients loose and have a play:

Please let us know here how you get on 🙌

This is pretty awesome!

Can you filter OUT stuff somehow? Like if I don't want Myrcene.

I had a few cases where after filter reset, I was not able to add filters any more. I needed to refresh the page first to be able to do it again.

Want non-irradiated/Canada/Indica ? Want to see new products that are upcoming? Done, so good and easy.

I'm sure this will mature and become even more useful over time. Many thanks for the effort. 8)

Had a play around with this last night and found it to be very good with smooth navigation through all categories and sub categories.
Really nice touch being able to click on the sections on the right side, growers etc.
Overall a great user experience and look for to using this very useful tool to help educate me on my MC journey 🙏🏼💚

I would love to see this added in, "Avoid Known Terpenes" maybe something like 0%, <=5%, <=10%.

There are many terpenes I would like to avoid, e.g. Myrcene, Terpinolene and more.
