Is there any law around alternate medicine? Some places only allow a change of strain/script via appointment/consultation others seem to treat it like pick n mix so I'm guessing it is not law but arbitrary rules by each clinic? I ask as mine regularly runs out of stock and then offers unsuitable medicines on the basis of they are the same/similar % THC, I then have to wait two days + for them to change my script and whenevr they do this they automatically submit it by default forcing me to take the maximum amount of an often untried strain, it seems unethical at best?

This seems to be an eye opener to some but at my current clinic Mamedica® I get pretty much to choose the strains I want from their formulary which has about 50 to 60 flower choices usually plus oils and I felt I had the freedom to pick what I thought would be best for me and could change strain which I did each script without a problem or appointment.
Other clinics like CB1 Medical and others have great flexability but the clinic which gives you access to all pharmacies and medications if suitable is Cannabis Clinic Cardiff where I'm currently enquiring . (y)
Plenty of clinics offer freedom within agreed limits say for instance my wife has a 60g limit plus oil and is quite free to choose which strains she wants within agreed limits .

If you want to know more about clinics and fees let me know as many members have found more suitable services since joining here and many clinic transfers are recorded in the relevant threads.

Also other members will probably chip in with the good and bad of their clinics.

Thanks and appreciated, I have already enquiread about CB1 Medical's transfer process, I currently have a 100g/month flower allowance but am restricted to the two agreed strains/whatever alternative I can find that is suitable, given they only stock their own branded/packaged strains that meant a month of just waiting for something suitable to come available then another week waiting for them to accept the change. What really chaffs is being stuck with either 40 or 60g of flower when I select something that doesn't work for me and having to wait two weeks between each script.

Would love to hear peoples firsthand experiences elsewhere :)

As a carer for someone at CB1 I would not put you off them and whilst only 7 weeks into their journey they already have the freedom to pick their own strains within their 60g limit and can request meds from different pharmacies if wanted and others here have already done this ,they seem to be prompt at dispensing and good with communication
Also with the costs involved of transfer or a new patient and the ease of Summary Care Record retrieval to us at the time it seemed a no brainer ,but others here have great experiences of their clinics too.
