Potentially travelling to Belgium within the next few months and just wondered if anyone has had any experience travelling here with Medical Cannabis?

I'm assuming it will be fine, like I've seen on this forum for travel to the Netherlands and Germany, but I thought I'd ask.

I've been to Belgium and the Netherlands via Eurostar several times with a grinder and a vaporiser and have never once been stopped. Obviously, I didn't have any cannabis on me, though, as this was before I signed up for medical.

Hey'up @MGF, you can enter Belgium with UK medical cannabis but read through the countries official guidance here (scroll to the bottom):

Travellers residing outside the Schengen area said:
A traveller who needs to bring along narcotic or psychotropic substances into Belgium for medical treatment must be able to justify this with a valid medical prescription or a certificate validated by the government.

The maximum amount of medicines brought along to Belgium may not exceed a treatment duration of three months.

If your travel lasts longer than 30 days and this is the limit of the country of origin or your travel takes longer than 3 months, you should contact a doctor in Belgium. In this way, your medical treatment can be followed up correctly.

It is forbidden to have narcotic or psychotropic substances sent to Belgium.
In-effect you just need just need to ensure you're within 3x your monthly prescription allowance (ie. if prescribed 20g flower, and 30ml oil per month - then 60g flower and 90ml oil), you also need copies for (up to) three months of prescriptions.

While not formally required, obtaining a travel letter from your clinic may help mitigate issues if you try ensure it documents each and every med you're physically travelling with - if you're stopped my local police or similar, it's likely to help.

Generally speaking we always recommend contacting our local embassy to confirm information, while for many EU countries you're unlikely to have problems, we have seen official public guidance not being followed in some countries. Belgium's embassy can be emailed at: london@diplobel.fed.be

Thanks for the information.

Just to update this thread. I travelled to Belgium for a week at the end of November. Decided to only bring my vape carts on this trip and no bud, mainly because my bag was full to the brim and bringing the bud, vaporisers, chargers etc. would've added to the load.

Travelled via Eurostar to Brussels and back, and zero issues at either end of security.
