Hi all, I just got my flower and vaporiser, and i'm following the instructions and nothings really happening, There's no steam or smoke and i'm not exhaling anything. Its an Anix STEAM PATHFINDER Steam machine. What could I be doing wrong?

Hi @Kato2611

Usually cheaper vapes don't tend to have great production but I would have expected you to feel something.

I guess the obvious things for me would be what temp is it?

How are you packing it? It's a conduction vape so you'll want to pack the chamber tightly for best results.

Is the mouthpiece clean? Sometimes they can get a little gunked up, but again I would have expected you to have vapour stop to have this.

It may just be a faulty device. I don't think there's much more advice I can offer, I have a lot of vapes but given we inhale from them I tend to stay clear of Chinese plastics - one of my first ever portables was a flowermate and I really hated it.

It was 30 quid, with really good reviews. I have it on 390 C as that's what the booklet said was best. Id say its not too tight but definitely not loose. It feels like inhaling warm air, and the weird thing is I am feeling the effects but there's no steam/smoke at all.

Unfortunately for us, dry herb vaping does tend to be a get what you pay for market. There are some decent budget options, even some passable <£60 options but largely the performance suffers at these prices.

390c? That sounds a bit high to me, you sure it's not in f?

That's about 200c which sounds about right to be honest. You should be getting vapour from that to be honest.

Can you up the temp? I'm thinking the internal temp sense is way of but that's not a good think of it is.

What colour is the herb afterwards? Does it look roasted?

I'm sorry, even inhaling the warm air has got me giggling. I meant 390F. By 200c did you mean 200F? Its difficult to tell the colour right now.

Sounds like it's working to me 😂
I know, i'm not kidding you I was like "so is this supposed to be like this, and i'm stupid and didn't realise that's what it was supposed to do?" No smoke, no steam and i've got the munchies! I just know somethings not right and its probably something that i'm doing wrong.

I've done some googling this morning, watched a few people using it and reviewing it. From what I can see it doesn't produce much vapour.

This guy has a bit of a scolding review on it but if you skip ahead to him using it, his description of inhaling humid air and yours od warm air seem to match. As does his minimal vapour production.

To be honest, i think it's a get what you pay for type deal. It's just not a good device, it doesn't mean you can't get by on it though. I will say you'll likely use far more weed in something like this, so it can be more costly in the long run to use cheaper devices.

But outside of all of that, I think what you're experiencing is what you're supposed to experience with it unfortunately.

Thank you for your research. I tried finding out more info and couldn't get anything like this.
YouTube has a couple of videos but it does seem quite limited in info. I assume it's because it's not very popular and not many have used it, letalone took to the internet to review it.

Vaping has a fairly steep learning curve initially, but you will "get it" soon. Cheap vapes rarely offer value, buy cheap buy twice is very real for these products.

I recommend you save up for something like the very popular XMAX V3 Pro around £78 discounted in most of the UK vape shops, Recommended Vapes, Vapefiend, also on Amazon. It's waaay better as a beginners vape and will produce visible vapour. Good luck and dont hesitate to ask questions!

Like I said I'm so new to this, and assumed 30 quid and a bunch of good reviews was enough. I probably should have asked on here first. Im going to see if i can return it. Thank you for all your help, I'll look up that one that you mentioned.

I'm returning that one, and have ordered the one you suggested.

I'm trying the new vape and I feel like im doing something wrong, again following all instructions, Its like a very dry not very nice taste, and again no steam coming out when I blow. Its fully charged, at 220C, not too full and its the same as the other one. Its obviously me, But what could it be?

Give Lee's video a watch -

It's probably worth saying before you watch that, the V3 pro is a convection vape so it needs lots of airflow. In the last one you were packing tight, in this one you want a looser pack so the air can get around it all.

I believe the idea with those is cigar style baby puffs, followed by long slow draws when you notice a little vapour.

Haha, to be honest I just watched the entire video and I don't know if it'll be that useful to you.

A lot of people recommend using it as I've mentioned and here's someone's written user guide / review -

Hi all,

I've been using my V3 PRO daily for a week with dry herbs. And I love it! It gets me really (and I mean really) high if I want to but it is also great for microdosing throughout the day. It creates insane amount of vapour, the taste is good, air resistance is not too strong, and cleaning up with the dosing capsules is work for 30 seconds.

Now I'm going to tell you what I do to get the highest highs out of the vape. That is, I will talk about microdosing only after I got more experience with it.

Tl;dr: let the vape heat up additional 60 seconds after vibration and take 10-15 sec hits.

I turn on the device in session mode, set the heat to 180°C (356°F) and wait for the device to heat up. It vibrates to indicate that the heating element reached the temperature. I never take a hit immediately! I let the device heat up the herbs for around 60 more seconds. After that I take my first long and slow hit. Due to the additional 60 seconds heat up time I almost immediately get vapour. I inhale about 10-15 seconds which is very easy with the V3 if you didn't pack the capsule to tightly. I just fill the capsule with herbs and tamp down around 1mm.

Then I increase the temperature to 200°C (392°F) take a long and slow hit. Afterwards to 220°C (428°F) where I stay until the herb is spend. I notice it by the burned taste or when there is no "sensation" in my lungs during inhalation.

The six minute session setting is enough to get through a capsule in around 4 long and slow hits. More may be possible but the herb is already very dark after that and I really don't like the taste at that point.

I read multiple times that people removed the air filter/cover of the glass mouthpiece. I tried it multiple time but then the glass heated up way to fast to take long hits. With the cover I never managed to overheat the mouth piece.

Considering inhalation time: length over strength. The hot air heats up the herb when it flows through. You don't need to inhale like a maniac trying to get a grape through a straw. Very light pull is enough. Longer inhalation time will get you more than short but strong, imho.

That's it for the how to. I really like almost everything about the device. Especially that it is very easy to keep clean, inhaling is easy, the display is awesome, the glass mouthpiece is really good, battery is enough for 6-8 full 6 min sessions.

Buying this device again if I needed to, would be an absolute no brainer for me. Especially when I consider the price.

Cheers,
