UK Westminster Hall Debate on Medical Cannabis

I watched it, my TL;DR below:

The government has allocated funding (£8.5m) for a clinical trial on unlicenced CBPM (read - flower, etc) efficacy for epilepsy only

The government want the private growing/clinic/prescribing industry to pay for broader trials (which they haven't thus far because they cannot patent the outcome and get their clinical trial money back).

In fact not only would it be an expense they can't recover, in my opinion they are disincentivised from funding it because if the trials prove it safe, then the NHS will likely start prescribing in earnest and diminish the available 'market' of medical cannabis patients getting private prescriptions

So the usual political parroting about funding black holes and being super awesome and the last lot were shit, and not really much progress is my take.
