I need to go Amsterdam

After about 6 years no Dam it's just dawned on me I need to go in the spring/early summer and just kickback in Vondel park and chill in a few coffeeshops with a bit of blankness about me just watching people strolling about .
Being going to the Dam since about 1994 and the first time as group of lads we stayed at the globe and was like a bunch of dickheads buyIng everything we seen and I'll always remember going in Hunters bar and just not believing it was real .
Remember waking up in the dorms in Durty Nelly's and loads of Korean girls in the opposite beds and getting up for an Irish breakfast also just sitting upstairs where the car is hanging out of the front is it Rick's cafe or Rock cafe ,always mix them up but spent many days with pals or the wife in these joints and really I think I just realised I need to go again.

P.S. We were all booked(me and my wife) to go about 5 years ago and had paid everything and the day before I checked my passport and
Trust me I wasn't a popular dude with my wifeas the last couple of times she didn't come with me as I only went for me bacci allowance

It'll be Dam or Maastricht for me , actually probably Maastricht for the memories or maybe both and all I do is chill when visiting the Netherlands as she can't get about too well on foot .

You should try Rotterdam - almost zero tourists at night and the nightlife is amazing, far better than Adam.

No it's her wish that we go easy ,I always get in trouble for zooming off and we don't do nightlife ,haven't for yonks .

Same drop foot and I had all the muscle next to shin stolen so huge hole in leg

The cobbled streets don't help at all for her but she just recovers enough after a few of hours in a coffeeshop to make it to the next one ,then I get us lost and all hell breaks loose over 30 years of visiting and still get lost .

Then you need a mostly new city (tiny amount of cobbles) like Rotterdam or Den Hague. If you both want peace, beauty and tiny at least have a kijker at Delft, esp when students aren't there.

We luckily travelled a fair bit before my wife got ill so are really glad we did in hindsight and with Holland I've considered the idea of driving to take away a lot of mobility problems but this would be better outside Amsterdam as driving in Dam is a nightmare also she does have a mobility scooter but she never uses it ,got me thinking now of a weeks tour or something later in the year .

Amsterdam per capita must be the most walked, steps. All peeps after weed, sex and the occasional tourist attraction.

I've got places to visit and my friend who calls round for a coffee regularly is from Utrecht and has family is north of Dam and would like to go round those area's too as she'd love that and I'm interested in how they reclaimed land and all that palaver so this could be lovely.
Going to start looking into it ,but passport first and possibly for both but the seed is planted in my mind now .

Wouldn't think of taking loads, but I'd want something with me to manage all the travel bits
