Hi everyone,
I’m new to medical cannabis and although I’d tried cannabis recreationally before I wasn’t a regular user so this isn’t anything to do with tolerance, but I recently purchased some Circle 10:10 but it doesn’t seem to have any effect on me whatsoever, even up to 1 ml which is my maximum daily dose! I’m not sure if I’m doing this sub lingual thing correctly but as I understand it if you swallow it you still get high, just a different kind of high, right? I don’t know how I could be going wrong with the dosing because 1ml is a whole dropper full, and it’s only a 30ml bottle and that’s supposed to last me a month. I’m starting to believe that it’s just CBD oil in the bottle and they’ve mislabelled it. Anyone else have this problem or any advice?

I would suggest it's the T10:C10 as many other patients are reporting this as very mild in effects and I reckon is used as a stepping stone in the beginning of treatment . Also to add the CBD will sort of counteract the THC so there is that to bare in mind . I'd say you'd feel the effects more without the CBD in the oil and would hope they change it for you to something more effective/suitable as they now know you had no adverse effects.
There are plenty of options with oil for stronger T25 and T25:C25 are the logical next step up if you wish to carry on trying oil.

Edited to Add. it is known that a small percentage of people are not affected at all by oils and edibles as this is a different process in the body to smoking/vaping.

A 10 mg dose of THC across an entire day is not very large at all, even for an inexperienced user. Although I'd have expected you to feel something, if mild, from taking all 1ml at once. Everyone's natural tolerance is different though - yours must just be higher despite your inexperience. But that's no problem, just means you need to titrate your dose upwards. It's common for clinics to start relatively mild, especially if the patient self-reports as inexperienced, and increase strength as required.

For reference, your average flower patient will generally use 20% THC flower in 150 mg dosing capsules with about 30-50% vaping efficiency, so a single 150 mg dose will deliver 10-15mg of THC virtually all at once, and typically they'll be prescribed up to 1g/day, so a total daily dose up to 60-90 mg of THC. So it would take you 6-9 days to consume the equivalent of a typical flower user.

So yes, just request a higher dosage of THC.

I tried oil a month ago it was 25/25 and I got no high, just a relaxed body for 4 hrs, no mental effect. I think it was the 25 CBD, when in stock I will try a 25/0 oil ie just THC.

When I first used oil on MC the T50 was £110 and T20 was at £80 and in hindsight the T50 was a lot more suitable strength wise but the strain it was from was not what I needed but for cost the T50 was a no brainer on value as it reduced the price/mg quite a lot in this instance.

I don’t think I’d be one of the ones that are not affected by oils or edibles because although I haven’t been a regular user recently, I was a long time ago, like over 20 years ago, and at the time ingesting it was my favourite way of using it because I thought it was a more enjoyable high and it lasted longer.

I have now tried up to 2ml all at once and I’m still not even getting mild effects! I’m almost convinced that there isn’t any THC in it at all, but is there any way to prove it?

My next order is due and I’ve requested a change in my medication. I’m going for flower this time, but my intention is to use it as an edible rather than for vaping. I just don’t want to risk ordering oil again because this one was a huge disappointment and a waste of money and I would tend to trust a more natural product over a more processed one, and maybe it would be better value for money too. Does anyone think that this might be a problem? Because I read that you can make small changes to a prescription, such as changing to a similar product with a similar strength, without having to see a doctor, but to change to a totally different product or a much stronger one you have to book and pay for a consultation with a specialist. My new order would still be within my THC limits for the month (especially since I’m swapping one of my vapes for the flower because I have enough left over to last me to next month) but I’m just changing to a different form - I haven’t ordered any flower before.

Response to cannabis is a very individual thing, and while tolerance and experience does play a large part, there is also a personal part of it which can't be discounted. It might very simply be that despite your inexperience, you're just one of the people who needs a higher dose than average to feel effects.

Also if you're comparing it to ingesting it i.e. cooking with it, then there will be a difference from a sublingual hit. Sublingual lies somewhere between vaping and eating in terms of onset time and half-life of effects. It hits faster than eating, but may not last as long or feel as potent, which is why increased potency might be required as you transition from eating to sublingual to vaping. I'll happy vape a 20% THC strain all day and take in the equivalent of 50-100 mg THC through the day, but a single 20 mg gummy will floor me/have the room spinning. I've never used oils personally so not that familiar with the technique, but are you sure you're keeping it under the tongue long enough and not just swallowing it too quickly?

Is there a way to prove it? Yes, you can buy THC potency testing kits, but they're quite expensive. For a cheap version, make a rude gesture to the next traffic police you see and they'll happily oblige you for a free THC test lol.

I'm not sure if clinics will prescribe flos for the purpose of cooking it, only vaping unless I'm mistaken - so unless you consider not following your prescription a problem, then there's no problem, as long as you're sensible with dosing while cooking I suppose. It'll also add extra calories to your diet, usually in the form of not the healthiest of stuff, so that's a not insignificant consideration with potentially serious health effects too. Honestly, if you're going to go the flower route, I would suggest switching to vaping unless there's a reason you can't.

Also you can cook with ABV, so you get the best of both worlds with vaping.

PS the whole thing that you mentioned in your OP about different highs from sublingual vs edibles could well be relevant. The way your body metabolises cannabis depends on the administration route and genetics. About 1/4 people apparently have a genetically reduced capacity to metabolise THC.

You may well fall into that category, which imo would explain why you gravitated towards edibles in your recreational use, which I would say is fairly atypical.

Either way, yeah, sounds like you need increased potency or an alternative route of administration.

Hi there,

Welcome to the world of medical cannabis! 🌿💚 Sounds like you’re looking to get the most out of your Circle 10:10 oil, and I’ve got some tips that might help.

🔥 Sublingual vs. Swallowing – You’re right that swallowing still works, but bioavailability plays a huge role in how well your body absorbs cannabinoids. Taking it with fats and certain ingredients can boost effects massively.

🥤 How to Maximise Absorption – I make a Full-Spectrum Oil Drink that enhances the way cannabinoids interact with your body. Adding your oil to a warm drink with ingredients like lemon, cayenne, honey, and black pepper can increase bioavailability and create a stronger synergistic effect (aka the entourage effect). This helps your body absorb more THC and CBD instead of losing potency in digestion.

⚡ Why This Works
Fats (e.g., coconut milk, MCT oil) help cannabinoids dissolve and absorb better
Black pepper (Caryophyllene) boosts THC binding to cannabinoid receptors
Cayenne & citrus (Limonene & capsaicin) enhance effects & increase uptake

👀 Still not feeling it? If you’re taking your oil on an empty stomach or without fats, you might not be absorbing as much as you should. Try adding it to a full-spectrum drink like the ones in this playlist:

💨 Hope this helps! Let me know how you get on. Bioavailability is key! 🚀🔥

If you're not feeling the effects from your oil, it could be down to how it’s absorbed. I’ve got a Full Spectrum Oil tea recipe dropping at 5PM — with orange, cinnamon, black pepper and more to naturally boost bioavailability. Worth a look if you're not getting the relief you need. 🌿
