Eight children were taken to hospital after being suspected of eating sweets laced with cannabis at a school in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Phillimore Community Primary School in Darnall shortly after noon on Tuesday.

The children have since been discharged and an investigation had been launched, the force confirmed on Friday.

Phillimore Community Primary School has been approached for comment.

A force spokesperson added: "It is understood that children had consumed sweets suspected to contain cannabis.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to get in touch."

Same story did the rounds in America recently, they could of at least changed the number of kids 😇

Yeah, even if its true, it could of been much much worse - they could of had access to any number of prescription meds, household stuff - that could actually kill em.

When I was in primary school in the 90s another student offered me "jellies" aka Valium.

It's nice to see that past 30 years have seen a shift away from hard drugs in primary shools. :ROFLMAO:

They were called duck eggs around here. Various colours but usually 20's were yellow and 30's were green. I've seen liqiud temazies on the dark web in the same shape but never the old fashioned jellies which had a thicker more jelly like interior. Banned due to crazy mainlining fools losing their limbs, so probably for the best!

Aye they've got quite a few names up here. Blues, scoobies, WD40s, rangers taps.

Say what you want about young rapscallion who offered me two "jellies" for £2 in primary 6, he certainly knew the best jargon for his target market of the day.

This is bad publicity for the cannabis scene, unfortunately these type of things keep happening.

I learnt young that mostly anything that ends in azepam is a good thing 😇
