new MC patient here, waiting impatiently for my strains to be dispensed ( Curaleaf) today is day 4 of 5 of the expected dispatch date. Spoke to the pharmacy today and have been told that when a product shows as “available” on their formulary this just means that the producer has stock availability and not that the pharmacy is holding stock. Apparently I should have been advised of this by the doctor at my consultation? They are still waiting for a delivery so can’t confirm if they will dispense tomorrow or not. Im assuming this is the norm of how these “pharmacies” operate and I’ll have to get use to it and also place my next order as soon as it becomes available so I can build up a reserve stock.

Hi there and welcome to the community, no this is certainly not the norm, most pharmacies do hold whatever stock they have listed and dispense it same day (providing you have made payment before the dispatch deadline usually 2.30-3.30pm mon-fri)

Unfortunately signed up for the £10 per month deal with 3 month lock in period. Can you move from Curaleaf to Medicann without another consultation and MDT or does the process start again?
the process to swap is the same as if you weren't already a patient elsewhere, go to the site do an eligibility form etc then once you do your first telephone appt you inform them then that your already a patient elsewhere and they will skip a lot of the questions and get you enrolled very quickly (usually within 2-3 days) then in the meantime you phone your own clinic and request a discharge letter (this is usually sent via email same day) and you forward that to MediCann once your successfully registered

Also does anyone know if a MC pharmacy has ever been reported their regulators, CQC or GPC for this type of behaviour?
Yeah most likely, MC seems to be hit or miss with some people at beginning depending on clinic doctor etc - my journey had a few hurdles too mostly due to a specific doctor but yeah it definitely happens

Progress update on my order today.

At 9am Curaleaf Pharmacy portal showed that my expected dispense / delivery date had been moved back from 24th to 29th Sep. Spoke to advisor who confirmed this was correct.

Sent a complaint to Curaleaf clinic and Curaleaf pharmacy, highlighted patient clinical safety concerns in respect of inadequate information being provided and also inadequate complaints process with no escalation/alternative external regulator details. Threatened escalation to CQC and GPhC. About 10 mins later had an email to confirm the full order has been dispensed and DPD app also updated.

I’m sure there is no connection between initiating a complaint and stock suddenly becoming available

I've been a member on the forum for a while. I don't recall a 'good' review of Curaleaf.

Sorry about that.. hope it doesn’t get deleted…
First time I’ve ever met a GP who supports medical cannabis so from a clinical perspective it was excellent and as a patient I felt reassured. I had a few concerns about Curaleaf pharmacy prior to receiving my fiirst prescription as I didn’t understand the process. My aim in accessing MC was to receive good clinical support alongside legal good quality medicine , whoever the clinic or pharmacy. It’s very early days for me and my experience of MC but so far so good… especially with all the support and advice available from the kind people on MedBud 🙏

Some good news from Curaleaf this morning as they have reduced their monthly access scheme to £5. I know MedBud hates on Curaleaf but I’m also getting a good selection of flowers that work well at lower than BM rates (for me anyway) and no delivery fees. Currently my 3rd script is being processed. Couldn’t be happier, I have had good clinical support from in Curaleaf doctors and the management of my health condition has improved significantly because of MC.

Ultimately, the significant improvement of your health condition is all that matters. Great news that it's working for you

We share information with each other to help us get the best outcomes for ourselves in our situation - if your set-up is working for you then that's fantastic to hear and thanks for sharing

The most important thing is you are getting what you need and are satisfied and I know a Curealeaf patient in my private life who says the same as you and is quite content to be a patient there after a couple of years I think .
It's also good to see clinics reacting to price drops and implementing their reductions in cost as this benefits all patients in the pocket .
