Just thinking keeping it surrounded by bigger pots and out of the breeze over the winter as that should do the trick then watch it grow in the spring

You can buy plant fleece as well if it needs extra help. I think this winter is going to be a cold one

I would start by giving it fresh compost/replanting it in a bigger pot

Yes I can do that straight away as it does seem to have outgrown the pot which is medium size and it's probably has been in that soil for 5 years +
