Hey everyone!

I got my prescription in December just gone, for flower. I am with Cannabis Clinic Cardiff, they have been brilliant BTW.

I am wanting to try the vapes in my next prescription as I don't really get on with the davinci 3 and lack of 'smoke' you get from them. I fully admit I may just not be using it as well as I could.
However, I do want to try the vapes. Particularly if I am away from home, or wake in the night etc
I just have no idea what to order as all the values are different.

My current prescription is GMO cookies THC 30 and supreme deisel THC 28 (nice)

If i was to order a vape (my clinic is CCC) does it come as a sealed unit or do i need to buy the vape to put the cartridge in? Any suggestions if so? I am traditionally a cloud vaper, but appreciate it wont be possible to achieve that effect.

Also, i want to move across to the under tongue oils eventually as quitting smoking, Can they be 'vaped' or purely under tongue?

Ideally I want to gravitate towards products that have the least carriers or additives in. I have looked through the plethora of information that is out there and it is just a bit overwhelming to be honest and would really appreciate experienced advice.

Thank you

Welcome, I am at the same clinic and agree you are in good hands there.

Ordering vape cartridges - doesn't matter what clinic you are with per se - what you receive from the pharmacy you choose is just the cartridge, and you then need a separate battery to use them. So if you order a 510 threaded cart (the most prevelent fitting system) then you'll need to pick up a '510 vape battery' separately. You can pick them up in lots of places quite cheap, £20 and less usually. If you need a recommendation either myself or others can point you to something.

The sub-lingual oils are just that, for oral use, they don't have the precise consistency needed to be vaped really. Some of the vape carts you can buy for vaping are resin or rosin which is pure flower (rosin being slightly higher quality according to most forum members) and distillate carts are the ones with carrier fluid in.

Let us know if you have any more specific questions, I am going to link to a thread where some of us have been making our own oils, vape fluid, etc - not that you necessarily want to jump into making your own stuff, just that it might be a helpful thread to sort through some of this stuff in your head as you get familiar with this new universe of terms and such :)

Hey there and thank you so much for your reply, particularly the link to the thread, as the flower from what I am seeing is much more cost effective at this point?

I would appreciate any pointers to vapes to try out on my next order, it seems a bit confusing at this stage as to the THC value in them and how long they last/ price compare to flower? It may seem a bit superficial, but the best way of taking MC to give the best 'cloud' effect is what I am aiming for at the minute ( other than the Camberwell carrot approach!) as I gravitate towards my eventual goal of the sub lingual oil. So anyone's experience and guidance of that is most welcome, as I fully admit, I may not be getting the best out of that davinci 3 i got.

The last time I was a cannabis user was 2005, so things have changed a bit since then :)

It's kind of a helpful / unhelpful answer I have for that one - in that it's going to depend on your needs and your usage as to how long it lasts, how effective it is, etc. Everyone is different. They last me weeks and months sometimes, others have used them in a few days (I saw one person claim a single day)

With a 510 battery vape that you can set your own temp on, there's nothing stopping you whacking it up to full and you will see clouds then for sure.

If you can afford the £80 mark I would recommend the Clearleaf® rosin range easily, all the ones I have had are tasty, effective and last me really well personally. Otherwise I would recommend the Aurora® carts for value as it's both cheaper and you get more. I don't recommend distillate personally due to the carrier oils and it not being a pure flower strain.

Then you just need to work out the suitable profile, if you are on more of the heavy hitters (based on your script you shared above), probably something more like a Wedding Cake or Platinum Slurricane in the Clearleaf® range or Sourdough in the Aurora® range. But I would recommend you read up on both ranges and see what you think might suit you best.

I have used a fair few 510 vape batteries, and currently happily using the Yocan Ziva Pro which you can find on various UK sites for ~ £10 - £20

Hope it helps

That's amazing! Just the explanation i was looking for, thank you. I will read up on those vapes certainly and get my order in. I'll let you know how it goes ?(y)🙏

Welcome to the forum @Darkwater and some sound advice there from @Lank72 who with a few others here have made sense of the vape carts available and having tried rosin, resin and distillate myself I'd say the rosin stands out on quality but the Aurora® resin carts are perfectly usable too as already mentioned.

Good luck with it 🙏

Welcome to MedBud @Darkwater

I'll leave the advice to @Lank72 on this one but welcome and I hope you enjoy it over here.

Reading through this thread was a joy. I learnt so much and got to meet another cool customer here at at MedBud. Welcome @Darkwater and best of luck with the new vapes. I have been thinking about using them for my own needs and reading through all of this gave me all of the info I needed. I have very high hopes (pardon the pun) that they will work extremely well judging from what I have read others say here recently. Thank you @Lank72 for taking the time to explain things so well. Have a great day folks.
