Our director @Tim Henley is soon going to start an on-going video series for MedBud.

It'll eventually be available on both YouTube and general social media platforms. We intend to cover everything from industry news and worldwide developments, to new product launches, review summaries, website news and more. What's most important is we don't want to rush launch, so things will likely ramp up over a few months as we feel is most suitable.

Tim has a huge amount of experience in the industry, first legally importing CBD from the US ten years ago, long before full medical legalisation. He went from working alongside advocacy groups and vape stores pushing for medical access – to after legalisation, managing a clinic, and importing legal meds.

Generally, since joining us last November, he's quickly become a core part of the team, and that's probably because he has been amongst our most important industry advisors since around 2023, and has shaped our direction heavily so far.

Next week Tim will be answering questions on an AMA-style thread, and further discussing what we have planned for the year ahead.

If you have any questions about the industry, running a clinic, prescribing, importing, legal regulations or requirements - please ask away below. There's so much for us all to achieve here at MedBud, and we have a lot to get launched over the coming months 🙌

Question from @cornucopia
does every product on the UK market have to have a certificate of analysis?
i assume they have to be tested to attain the THC/CBD % but do they also have to be tested for terpenes for example and if so why isn't the terpene information released when the product is available ?
it blows my mind how a medicine can be sold but there is no information to help the patient understand what symptom it might help treat etc

Question from @OldBloke
Greetings Tim, looking forward to this development and seeing more of you.

I have a thing about the age of our MC, it appears to me that a lot of UK MC flos is old and stale likely due to regulatory timelines and holdups. Can you give us any insight as to how this could be streamlined to improve quality and meet patient needs and expectations?

Several questions from @Delta 9
Hi Tim
(1) What would be the main reason to not be forthcoming , proactive and proud, to hide a COA?
(2) Do you think that a product should have it labled that its been remediated and what type used just like irradiation?
(3) What can we do to give patients the rights to request such info to be public?
(4)Can patients have adverse effects /allergies from terpenes and do you think they should be labled on packaging like food?
(5) Terpinolene dominated labelled Indica Hybrid could be an issue as we have seen with some terpinolene outlier recessive profiles, seen a few patients having adverse effcts thinking the effects would be opposite , Its catching patients off guard. Should this be taken seriously?
(6)Do you think the industry should come together to give subsidy for patients on low income in these crazy cost of living times and or just simply allowed to Grow our own cannabis like germany?

Question from @Fiddlesticks
Hi Tim
I think the main questions I would ask is why the mandatory 10g pack size, cost and disparity in pricing between identical products in the UK and Europe?
Thanks again and look forward to reading your responses.

Question from @Dooby Doo
Its down to money why you don't see some of the Terpenes available with some flower that comes along, Growers have to pay the cost for analysis 👍
When is Hash going to be available in the UK if it is at all? also, can you see different types of Rosin not Rosin carts being available in the near future?

Question from @TheGreenAvenger
How enforced are the regulations with regards to data logging? Ie temperatures and humidity?

What body/agency takes responsibility for checking such logs? Or are companies self regulating in the sense that their word/logs are taken as truth?

Having worked in the food industry for over a decade, more specifically within food hygiene with yearly and quaterly interactions with the British Retail Consortium and various other leading supermarket auditors, there was plenty of occasions where paperwork was simply falsified to appear everything was above board, nothing nefarious but it certainly arouses my suspicions that such regulations in the medical cannabis industry aren't abided by.

Looking forward to the gradual build-up of this, hopefully it can gain a good audience and helps patients who have questions that at times simply can't be answered by anyone other than those who have been in the industry.

I'd be grateful if someone could paste my Q into the AMA thread as my insomnia means I keep very strange hours and am likely to miss the event 8)

Hi Tim I am really struggling with the pricing of medication and struggle to get the right ones as I can’t afford them due to being unable to work

Also I would like to say that it is very expensive to find replacements as well. When we don’t know what we are getting really and need 5g packets to save money
...even 3.5g packs, blessid

I can answer that from first hand experience. They can and to be honest they should be either available on the packaging or on a website somewhere. I have an allergy to Geraniol. So far i haven't come across it in the flower i've used, but according to a number of sites, it is a possibly terpene in Cannabis. I am also allergic to Geraniums.

Back story, I had some eco insect repellent bought in Spain back in 2017, sprayed on skin and it kicked off anaphylaxis and 6 hours in a Spanish hospital. The insect repellent was Geraniol oil.

Other possibles might include Eucalyptol. I know of people with sensitivity to that.

To further understand possibility of terpene allergies you need to look at the phlogeny of Cannabis and specifically what other plants are in the Rosales group/order. You should look for any allergies to any of them. So in my example I have allergies to Almonds and other Tree Nuts. Typical Almond terpenes include Geraniol and Linalool. I seem to tolerate Linalool, but not Geraniol.

Maybe more info than you wanted, if so apologies.

If you could get 3.5g packs, you could try almost every strain in one order? It would make life a lot easier. Almost like getting a package of paint samples for testing on your walls. :P

Theres a few terpenes that can cause them but luck you have narrowed yours down which is brilliant , Theres a few rose terpenes in weed but not a big popular terp so i think even in there in small % it might not have the same effect but primary terp more than likely.
I had a few skin issues and sneezing with cannabis but never narrowed it down and even looked into can s 3 but more than likely terpenes.
Thiols , esters etc i am not going there as i dont think they will ever be tested and put on label but hopefully in the future.
Like yourself it can be dangerous and i feel every strain should have full profile on package never mind digital that only some seem to provide.

Gd insight in what you are saying. Esp linking almonds.

I kind of had to. Years back I had some cannabis that was giving me weird issues, like a choking sensation and I broached the subject with the immunology consultant I was under. She wasn't anti drugs per se and she said not to look at the cannabis, but to look at other plants related to it. So when i did I saw Almond was a relation.

My allergies at one point were so out of control that i actually sat down and worked out everything I was allergic to and then started breaking it down further to work out what they had in common chemically. In the end it came down to terpenes and oleic acid. it seems anything containing more than 28% oleic acid will give me a reaction. My worst reaction to date was olive oil which has 60-80% oleic acid and peanuts come in at around 60%. Both are hospital level anaphylaxis with a lot of epipen usage. Olives also contain terpenes including geraniol.

Hi Tim
Thankyou for doing this AMA and for the work you have done in promoting the use of Cannabis medically.
I have benefited from that indirectly and without people dedicating their professional lives to medical cannabis we would not have seen the progress that we have.
I think the main questions I would ask have been covered in the threads. Namely the mandatory 10g pack size, cost and disparity in pricing between identical products in the UK and Europe.
