Intros Hello, newbie with a couple of questions

That's awesome @Moon, mine arrived today too. So they must send all the prescriptions in on Thursday morning for next day delivery.

I got:
10g Tangerine boost (Releaf branded)
10g Gelato (Releaf branded)
10g 4C Labs Pink Kush

Just by the look of it the 2 Releaf branded ones from Glass Pharms are amazing. Really nice bud and the smell is great too.

The main difference is the Releaf branded has pretty much no stalk, it's all bud. While the 4C Labs is dryer and not loads but there is a fair bit of stalk in there.

Compared to what I've been getting on the BM for all these years, this is far better quality.

Can anyone comment on the general amount of stalk they have seen from other pharmacies?

I've added some pics too.

Lots of twig in that pack

I think this is fine and possibly very sensible if people are geniunely new to cannabis, but for those of us who have been self-medicating with it for 20 years or more for example, I don't personally think it's helpful to have this restrictive hand-holding

For my first medical appointment / prescription I asked the specialist to pick the strains, but from there I went my own way
I agree that experienced users should be given more freedom to choose. Leaning on the side of caution is better however, despite it being frustrating for many patients. It can be very difficult to judge whether a patient’s claimed experience is accurate or not from a healthcare professional’s viewpoint.

Did they allow you much choice after your first appointment?

Yeah, when I pushed a little harder in regards to strain options I was told "This is not a menu service" (light heartedly). It does appear, based on my opinion, that they could be trying to maintain a standard clinical procedure in strain choice. Pink Kush could simply be a good start point for all patients, middle of the road, then they may allow you to explore different strains from there once they understand what it is exactly you need. It's a good medical approach. What it is in actual practice I don't know. Only with more experience with them can I form a better understanding on how they operate and their decision tree.

That being said, my Pink Kush arrived today and I think it's pretty good. A lot more mellow than what I have been sourcing. Going to be my first night sleeping on it. See how it goes!

This for me would of been fatal in my relationship with them from a personal perspective as I would of took it as a slight on my previous use, when Medical Profesionals said it was wrong (back to the stigma.)

Although a lot of points I do agree with on Cannabis newcomers but once aware that you are not I personally could not work with that approach when much more advanced Cannabis medicine thinking is out there and commonly employed elsewhere.

I feel the issue some places probably have is the fear of people claiming they know strong bm cannabis and use it alot to try and boost their monthly script amount just to get the strongest possible strains.

Nobody wants someone gan wild when they don't need or shouldn't use these strains and end up in the papers shaming the industry

Or I'm just paranoid for em

I wouldn't be surprised if my Dr had put cannabis user since 13 on my summary of care as I've always been completely honest with my use. I don't hide my history of it from anybody.

Had my second appointment with Releaf. Disappointed I have to say. Despite their FAQ stating they can source other strains outside of their partnered suppliers, I have not been able to get them to issue me anything other than Pink Kush or Green Kush. The first appointment I had was much more open to my input. This one (different doctor) was basically “Pink Kush works, but we’ll let you try Green Kush. No we cannot give you any other strains, bye”

The speed at which they operate is fast I must say. Next day appointment, prescription done and ready. End on a positive I guess.

I will request the first doctor I had next time. If still no leeway then I’ll switch clinics.

Sounded like he was in a rush

Possibly the first may of been a consultant?
With the latest a prescribing Doctor if that makes any sense and just following their senior .🤷‍♂️

All we can do is asses it as it goes along and decide what suits us ,I'm in a similar position myself but have made the decision to move just making sure I get it right so I don't put myself in a position I do not want to be in again .(y)

Junior doctors usually follow suit with their superior unless you have a flower that doesn't work so well for you, they will then discuss with your doctor another flower. If there isn't any issues during your consultation, they seem to keep you with the same flower. They don't realise a patient needs to change flower for a similar flower for a different taste experience. You can also get use to a strain where is doesn't work so well as it did and you need a change of strain.

On a lighter note, just laughing to myself here as me an @Dooby Doo are trying to tell a Dr as in @DrM about prescribing procedures when they've probably forgot more about prescribing than we ever known put together:ROFLMAO:

Bloody hell, Releaf is an expensive clinic, I've just been trying to get onto their Pharmacy to see what other flower could have been Prescribed and if there was another strain they had in or not.

Yeah strain lock is a definite thing, of course you need to change sometimes.

Actually not decided but that would be the no brainer ,but I'd like to know what their plans are over 3.5 g first ,then you've got the putting your eggs in one basket as she's already their and if something ever went wrong. So a lot to consider ,not just the obvious.

They are not having a good time trying to distribute 3.5g, is it over the postage costs for a small amount?

I left them after 2 weeks! Moved to CB1 Medical which is free for a year if you are moving from another clinic (then 50 a year). I left as they would not allow me to have the amount i required, and would not let me choose product or see the stock list. So glad I moved, CB1 gave me what I require and let me choose the product and will make a script up to use elsewhere. Releaf are quick, but I was very disappointed in them. Moving was worrying but turned out to be a breeze and a pleasant experience. The pink Kush from releaf is £5 a gram at other places, mine was dry and a bit stalky and just not good quality, everyone appears to be getting the same medicine from them pink kush and now green kush. I can recommend Releaf if you are new to cannabis and well off. I can recommend CB1 to anyone.

Never put all your eggs in one basket! You are in a nice postion as it stands.

40 a month subscription, 90 consultation, then they only appear to sell at 8 per gram no matter the flower, the pink kush from them is way cheaper elsewhere. You only have to look at their adverts to realise it’s a clinic for the well off. I would never have gone to releaf if I had found this site before my journey started.

Join us @GrownHealth... one of us ONE OF US LOL

hopefully you find a clinic that suits what your needing. It's all a shot in the dark till you try really. Only so much you can find out through forums and posts. And q huge percent of posts will be negative over positive. Not alot of people go online to share a good experience.

I just went for the cheapest to get me started and got lucky I guess. The forums had just about started here and reddit is well reddit. Lol
