Flower Price hikes

Anything over £10/g is more than street prices across most of the UK, and even anything over £6.50/g can struggle to compete with the common £160-180 ounces available across at least most of the home counties - especially when clinic fees are also considered.

To attract more patients to UK medical cannabis and away from illicit supply, and moreover to stop patients going back too, there needs to be a better value proposition.

Right now it's often: I want to be fully legal, versus, can I afford to be?

Just a few days ago the head of Curaleaf International was making false claims street prices were £10-15/g - literally 'Cali' import prices - and commissioning articles claiming they were cheaper:

yes totally agree with you ,I’m on 80 Gram a month which could get ridiculous if I picked what I wanted each month.
It should not be like this though it’s medication what I need everyday

i Think there should be an immediate price cap of £8/gram and then work on getting the prices down. The prices are predatory and the Goverment are doing nothing. No flower is worth £10/gram they sell in Canada for what £2-3/gram? Rip off Britain strikes again!

Also price and quality seem not to go hand in hand. Case in point Canopys £13.75/gram Afghan Kush. Recieved 1x 10g pot with hardly any expiry date. Smell was average, Effects very average easily matched by the £5/gram Master Kush by Tilray.

Just to note, we spoke to Martinez earlier today - he provided his own citations which we refuted, we were given assurances such comments would not be made publicly again without better consideration.

I am aware of wholesale pricing for numerous brands, that is, what pharmacies pay to distributors themselves. Approximately half the cost of all medical cannabis flower, in most cases, is profit split between the national distributor and the dispensing pharmacy.

We'll never reveal exact wholesale costs publicly, but this fact alone will likely outrage a ton of patients.

Moreso when considering what's 'profit' to other parts of the supply chain, before things even land in the UK.

This is why they should drop the prices not raise them
These companies are queuing up to sell on here and rip us off

Thats crazy they are even more greedy than i had imagined. I figured 10% was orpfit. So all my PIP payments from the Gov goes to these people? Hell my PIP did not even cover it this month £500 script £75 appointments PIP is £514 monthly.

This is where the petition should of started IMHO. I intend to write to my health minister about it but its devolved its the English Health Minister who should be given a letter and petition. Half profit is outragous to recieve on a medicine.

I feel you. Currently I get enhanced daily and enhanced mobility but I’m unable to currently work. So Mamedica® for example offered a £200 on off payment incentive to patients like us to join but I lost my T21 discount and I find I’m often left with only a few of low priced medications to choose from and even then I often find myself not able to order my full allowance because I just can’t afford to sustain that amount of cost every month

Mamedica refused me access to the access scheme. The reason was i signed up just before it launched. I could just cancel and move clinic and come back to mamedica on the access scheme but they said no. I thought as a policy it and they were wrong. They already make lots of profit on flower but want the yearly fees too. I look forward to the MedBud reviews where i savage mamedica! 😤

Sorry to hear that. I wonder why you can’t come back on the access scheme, it does seem harsh to accept some and not others who also meet the criteria. Have they stopped the access scheme now maybe?

No I just was a patient before it existed :(

1730205631687.pngJust looking at this graph and thinking this is the reason Medical Cannabis in the UK was so poor value and quality available earlier in the year ,and wondering in the future are we just as vulnerable to other markets just swooping in and leaving us UK patients with the leftovers?
