Hello to all at the MedBud.wiki community!
Been a MC patient now for circa 6 months having previously self-medicated/BM for 15+ years.
Knew about MC in the UK but just never thought I'd get accepted. Thought it was only for "serious" illnesses.
To my surprise, I found out it's extremely effective in helping with a VAST range of symptoms/conditions.
I was drawn to a "Free Sign-Up" offer from Releaf that I came across on Instagram.
Said "Ahh what the hell..." and clicked it. Filled out the form and tried my luck.
Couldn't believe how easy/quick the sign up was with Releaf. I gave them access to my NHS records directly and that was the key. It was like an automatic and instant sign up thereafter.
Prescribed flower from Releaf was SHOCKING to say the least. Atleast it was for me as a "seasoned" smoker.
Later I find out through MedBud.Wiki forums that some clinics let you choose the flower you want from brands like Cookies, Carmel, Lot420 and CannFX?!?!? WHHHAAATTTT??? Sign me up?!
That led me to Alternaleaf. I filled out their form as a "Transferring Patient" from another clinic. Before anything could do be done, I was asked for a "Discharge Letter" by Alternaleaf from my existing clinic Releaf.
Once the discharge letter was issued by Releaf, I sent it over to Alternaleaf. I very quickly had my Dr appointment and was prescribed some flower by the Dr. His choice. Some mainly "in-house" brands like Sundaze®, Upstate and Craft Botanics.
I was a little confused at this point with the Dr chosing which strains/strengths were given to me on my initial prescription. But it turns out this is usually a trend with first prescriptions at many Clinics.
For my repeat prescription with Alternaleaf is where the fun really started and where MedBud.wiki is simply IRREPLACEABLE and ESSENTIAL for any MC patient. The information, stock levels, reviews, terpene profiles... It's all there. Coming from BM, you don't really get given this info by your Friendly Neighbourhood D**G Dealer.
I was able to try new brands like the ones I previously mentioned as well as varying strains and flavours. Things were going great!
Alternaleaf dispenses their prescriptions via Montu. Formulary wise, Montu is pretty up there in terms of Stock numbers and availability. They seem to also only serve Alternaleaf as a clinic and it's patients. Montu/Alternaleaf are one company if i'm not mistaken. So it's nice that you're not competing with other clinics' patients on stock.
Despite this, I still seem to find a lot of the strains/brands that get good reviews are usually out of stock with Montu.
They also have this annoying thing where they will stock 1 or 2 products from brand but not the entire range of 5+ products from the same brand.
The killer however is the having to request your entire prescription in 1 go. You can split the order in terms of payments, but the actual products you want have to be decided for the 28 days in advance. Particularly troublesome with flower of choice being close to expiry and usually having to wait a long time for your next repeat to try new products to market - that's IF Montu decide to stock it.
A lot of the CannFX, Green Karat, BNM, " Cantourage" products just not ever stocked by Montu whilst other pharmacies have plenty.
This issue with stock and certain strains not being available led me to Medicann.
They utilise IPS pharmacy which is one of the largest stockists of Flower and other products. Best part is Medicann gets it's own share of IPS stock for it's patients and ONLY it's patients. Again going back to my point earlier about one of the benefits of Montu - not having to compete with other clinics' patients all buying from the same pharmacy's stock. I think all the Integro and subsidiary clinics use the main IPS stock.
The transfer to Medicann was a LOT easier than moving to Alternaleaf. I would compare it to how good it was with Releaf when I first started my MC journey. I think again the key here was them asking for NHS app access. I applied Sunday LATE night (ripped off my t**s), Was able to book a call with a HCP for an initial the next day on Monday. By Tuesday morning I was accepted and already had my first prescription for 30g of various Flowers (CannFX Mochi Gelato, NextFriday Blueberry Fuego and Cookies A&B).
Weirdly, they haven't asked me for a discharge letter from Alternaleaf. I didn't think I'd get product from Medicann without them seeing a discharge letter from previous clinic. I know you're not allowed to technically be with two clinics and certainly can't have 2 overlapping prescriptions from 2 different Dr's/Pharmacies - BUT how bad would it be to continue ordering product from both? Sometimes Montu has things that IPS doesn't. Montu only exclusive things sometimes as well as might be in stock at one particular pharmacy but out of stock at another.
I wouldn't be over-prescribing myself but just ensuring I have 2 avenues to go down in securing my particular flower.
Read online that my GP would find out that I'm using 2 clinics and could potentially notify the clinics who would then both discharge me and ban me etc.
Any validity to this? Anyone here happy to admit it's also happened to them and they're doing it under the radar with no problems?
Medicann has an App compared to Alternaleaf's website based portal. Read a lot of bad things about Medicann's app and "Script Assist" portal but so far I love it. Finding myself spending HOURS just on my phone browsing the Formulary on my phone with Medicann's app.
Can't recommend them enough so far. Only wish I was with them from the start.
The amount of money wasted on rubbish bud prescribed by Dr's and the trial & error of trying cheap vs expensive bud.
Medicann from the start and don't order ANYTHING without checking it out first on MedBud.wiki
