Hi All,

I have suffered with chronic pain for a while and after trying various prescription meds with the GP I thought I would try MC. I have experience with BM but gave up 7 years ago (except for a weeks trip to Amsterdam each year for my birthday).

I just wanted to say thank you for all the people posting in here. You are really making a difference to people like me who need that information to help navigate the journey.

I have my first appointment with CB1 Medical this week and I am a bit nervous I will still be turned down but I guess that is a familiar feeling to some here.

I have a couple of questions.

1. As a previous BM user will asking for 40g likely be refused? I am just going on what I consume in Amsterdam
2. Asking for mid's T20s flower on my first prescription be seen as too high?

Keep posting, you are doing valuable work.

Thanks again,

Green

Welcome to the community @GreenScreen and thankyou for your kind words and this is what makes it all the more satisfying for everybody here I imagine 🙏

There shouldn't be a problem with requesting 40g if you feel this is what your usage will be aimed at your medical needs and my usage has gone up as I treat my symptoms round the clock now as a medical user and also get more benefit as a consequence .

Also asking for mid T20's is pretty normal I'd say but we are individuals treating different things and just be honest about your knowledge through BM on such things and what works for you and there shouldn't be any problem (y)

Good luck.

Hey and welcome to the community Green, don't be worried I went into my CB1 consultation doing 100g a month BM, I was put straight onto 60g and hasn't been too many issues ATM (obv I'm having to cut down a lot but I was smoking way too much anyway and actually wanted to reduce it) and don't be scared to put across what you want either, they will try and push the oils/vapes before anything about flower is even mentioned so if you want flower make it clear that's all you want or they will rabble on about all the alternatives. And to answer your question about the t20 flower... absolutely not a problem, I went straight to T27 on my first script so don't be worried your gonna get thrown onto something thats too low THC for your needs.

Welcome to the Community @GreenScreen, you have picked a decent Clinic CB1 Medical. They are a very Professional understanding clinic and specialist in pain management among other fields. You shouldn't have any issues by what you've said in your introduction and thankyou for sharing your Journey so far. I can see the Consultant prescribing you lower THC/CBD prescription medication depending on your pain levels . I too suffer with chronic pain, spinal issues among other things going on. You will probably be offered edibles, oils, vape carts or flower. If you prefer flower please state this as your prefered choice of medication, you can change this as you go along. Just be yourself, talk about medications your taking now or have tried, physiotherapy, how your pain effects you from day to day and how Cannabis has helped you in the past. Hope everything goes well for you 👍

Welcome, if you have plenty of experience with cannabis, don't hold back - better to be open and honest, no one is trying to catch you out

If you want a certain amount, push for it, if you want free range of THC choices, push for it

All the best, be well

High there Green and welcome to the Community..
When I started I said I thought I averaged between 2-3g per day which would be 70g e.g. but was started on 30g.
2nd script was 30g and a cart and third script today is 40g so I think you will go up in more realistic stages here from my limited experience elsewhere - but so far so good for me and definitely going in the right direction and as unsustainably expensive it is going through a variety of strains to find "your strains" then patience is a virtue and a very exciting/frustrating journey lol 😜
Very best of luck (y)

.... and I am approved. What a relief.

Still a bit of an issue with incorrect amounts on the prescription but I am sure that will sort itself out. I have used both the App and email to ask the clinic about it, but the process seems to going ahead regardless. I assume the admin staff answering emails don't work at weekends .:)

I expect a delay in the prescription now I have asked them to change it and I have seen threads on here talking about whether they will send a partial subscription so assume they won't.

Hopefully they can sort things out quickly.

Thanks again for the advice.

Green.

Great news and hopefully the admin issue's gets sorted out quickly but the main thing is you've been accepted and can look forward to medicating legally with a decent selection to choose from 🙌

That's good to hear and hopefully now you can start enjoying your MC Journey, any issues just ask here if your unsureabout anything but the staff at the clinics are usually ok. Hopefully you'll get your part prescription if you need it, ask for it. I would phone them tomorrow morning as this would speed things up for you. The part of the script you don't want will have to go back to the doc and this can cause a slight delay depending how busy they are.

Quick update. Prescription all sorted out and awaiting delivery. Soon be seeing if these strains can take the edge off my pain.

Was wondering if I feel brave enough to vape with the windows open in the hot weather now I am legally allowed to have my medicine, even a puff in the garden.

I still think my neighbours will think I am up to no good.

Just adjusting I guess after years of hiding.

Keep cool if you can.

It's a good today for people joining new clinics and fabulous your finally legal and it does take some getting used to for the inbuilt stigma to go away but it does and I liberally use it now around my house and gardens .
Enjoy your evening ,it's turning out to be a lovely one 🙏

Welcome to the community!

Top news on your script as well! Nothing beats that first delivery! Are you familiar with what's coming from BM? Or are they all new strains for you?

I've never had to deal with neighbours really caring but you definitely shouldn't feel like you have to be couped up in uncomfortable heat to medicate and feel relief.

How approachable are your neighbours? I'm sometimes surprised by how easy going people are when they see you're making an effort to not bother them. A lot of the time they can see you approaching them about it as a sign of trying to be respectful.

@joint_account I am pretty experienced with most strains, a week in Amsterdam most years for 20 years. Although apart from some Kush Cookies ( Upstate) I have not had any of the others.

Approaching neighbours - I have hidden so long and so well that it seems so unnatural to mention it. They are all of an older generation too (not that I am young) but I am not sure if they would accept it as "medicine". Although I might be projecting.

Anyway I am not going to worry too much and the prospect of dropping back on my chemical pain meds feels like a good move.
