Anyone been rejected for being on anti-depressants?

Hi everyone,

I have got my first consultation on Saturday and I am just wondering, am I likely to run into problems for being on anti-depressant medication already? My goal is to get on MC to help taper off and then become my main medication, so I really hope they don't reject folk for already being on them.

Cheers.

Not at all mate, most patients continue to use traditional treatments alongside MC.

Ah right, that's good to know. Thanks mate.
If anything they'll be somewhat pleased by the fact you have other support mechanisms in life other than cannabis but in no way will they take a negative view of it.

The doctors you'll speak to are all lovely people and it's like being with a decent medical professional so don't overthink it too much. It's not a police interview!

Good luck! I mean that would be a main goal of a cannabis clinician - get you off the destructive chemicals. If it wasn't for MC, I'd need mood enhancers, uplifters, calmers, and sleepers, at the cost of my gut health and a lot more, turning myself into a ln empty zombie for the day. Now I don't need any of those.

Yeah I never really looked at it that way but I am sure you're right, hopefully they'll see this as a positive move!

Welcome, You've had some good advice already so I'll just support the other voices. Of course it's worrying friend because we've been told all our lives so far that this is the devil's lettuce and drugs are bad

Just be honest, especially if you already have experience with cannabis. The doctors will see the latter as a positive and they are not trying to trip you up. All the best with it and hopefully we'll hear you have a prescription soon

Hey, thanks.

Yes, I've been approved for a maximum of 20g at 22% THC. That was yesterday morning, so the office isn't open until tomorrow morning and therefore have to wait for my details to be updated. I should then be able to place my order.

The doc was really chill actually. Went smooth. The only thing he pressed a little was the fact I do the lion share of childcare for two kids under five - which is exactly why I need to medicate haha!

I now need to order some paraphernalia :)

Yes it's unfortunately embedded into society that a nanny/parent is fine if they're pumped full of xanax, opiates or antidepressants so poor thing is able to work 3 shifts like a zombie, but god forbid they touch a herb to relax and unwind and treat some symptoms.

I also think specifically for antidepressant targeting, the low dose is a wise choice. You don't want to get freaked out by the stronger 28% stuff. But hey I am very far away from being a doctor so just my opinion :)

Yeah exactly, mate. They hand AD's out like sweets but frown upon a natural remedy like this.

I agree, I think low strength is probably a wise choice.

What I would like is to find one Indica product that I can have low dose in the day to quell the anxiety and then pump up a little extra at night to help sleep - any dose suggestions? My AI friend suggested no more than 0.25g for sleep.

I personally don't believe in Indica / Sativa stuff, most stuff is Hybrid anyway. I only check terpenes, if it's got high Myrcene content, it will likely be a relaxant. If it's got no/little Myrcene and lots of Limonene, then it's likely a more energising one.

But for what it's worth, even though "street knowledge" suggested I need relaxant/downer strains for ADHD and especially night time, I just don't like them, they just make me tired and muted, I try to make sure Myrcene content is little to none. I use the Limonenes to lift myself up, and by the evening I still get sleepy enough, it's not like an energy drink after all.

My point is, you will try this and that, and ultimately you'll realise what strains and terpenes you like, don't lock yourself into Sativa/Indica limitations.

Hello! I have no idea if you have had your call or not. Best of luck! I am on two antidepressants, apart from pain my mental health is a very big deal.

Not all clinics are the same. Curaleaf were horrible to me. Like I might go back at some point and file a report or something.

Alternaleaf were upfront and denied me before a consultation. They were pretty honest that they are trying to move away from mental health patients.

Releaf approved me effortlessly. The consultations were about 20 minutes. I switched to Cannabis Clinic Cardiff.

I am desperate to do a live on MC for people that have mental health issues and are looking to apply. I want to be able to save them time and money by choosing the right clinics and just being emotional support.

Am I allowed to talk to people about the interview process and what they are looking for? You know like job interview coaching but MC interview coaching the the neurodiverse and mental health issues. Is this allowed?

Also, hypothetically... say someone started vaping and they were cleaning their vaping stuff with iso. Say the repeatedly cleaned with iso and then left the issue to dry. What if a black sticky residue formed and was easily made into a ball. What if in this magical story the ball didnt smell of alcohol at all. Would said sticky stuff be safe to use? And hypothetically how would one use it? P.S. In this hypothetical scenario the ball is very small and it is very dark. Smaller than a petite pois pea. By at least half.

I wish there had been some guidance before I did my first appointment. I was super stressed about it. The whole getting my records from my GP was a serious pain as well, they made it all kinds of hard to do it. But once I started the appointment it was pretty straightforward. Nothing like the stress level I had built up worrying about it. I had my first appointment before I got my records. I gave Integro my Summary Care Record and they said that would suffice initially and that got me the first appointment. I then got the full records and got them sent over and had the second appointment. I was accepted for ASD, Anxiety and Insomnia, but I have a litany of other health issues that also benefit such as migraines and strangely enough even my eczema seems to have improved this last year.

After that they apparently sent a letter saying I had been prescribed MC, to my GP. My GP never entered it into my records, which I am not against and it's honestly better than some of the labels people have been given after their GP found out. My surgery is kind of chill about it all and I think the staff know, but it hasn't been mentioned. When I go into hospital I mention it to them since it's not on my records, but they don't seem to have entered it on to their records either, but it's more a heads up.

Short version, don't get stressed about it all. I'm obviously with Integro and they've been brilliant with everything. I've read the stories of certain other providers, including the ones you had run ins with. I would say if you are pursuing a specific area to try and find a provider that deals in it. it seems not everyone deals in everything.

On your second point/question. Hypothetically, Yes. :)

A FOAF, once upon a time, "hypothetically" cleaned out an old school (jam jar chamber) vaporiser that had been used for around 20 years (and never cleaned) and was solid inside with some sort of clear resin. He then "hypothetically" tipped a whole load of ISO in, sealed it, shook it, left it for a day, rinse, repeat for about a week, then took the top off and evaporated it on a window sill and was left with a marble sized lump of clear gel. The gel was apparently very good.

Thank you ever so much for all of this! I love you! I just had a shitty experience followed by a somewhat embarrassing one! And this just helped soothe me. I came here to say:

Good Morning! Happy Sunday!

I made flapjacks to take to tge Greek Orthodox Church today. I have them in a Care Bear insulated bag as I am taking over local cheese and garlic butter as well. Anyway, I got to the ferry and need an emergency anxiety pee. I asked these nice looking ladies if they could watch the cooling bag. There was some exchange about the safety of the contents and I opened it and showed the huge bag of flapjacks. I offered her some flapjacks and she refused saying there might be whacky baccie in it for all she knows. I just left to go pee. Which I did and when I came out of the bathroom stall from peeing I saw urinals. My then shocked self proceeded to run out of the bathroom. Oh my days! Luckily it was 0707 in the morning and none of the passengers waiting for the ferry made eye contact or acknowledged my huge mistake. I have lived here for almost 30 years. I have used the ladies at the ferry terminal hundreds of times. 🙈 Please, laugh!

I am worried I might smell of weed. Like my clothes and everything. I don't know why that is bothering me at the moment. But it is. Luckily I had vaped HoneyDew in the car while my other half drove me to the ferry.

I am now sat on the ferry typing this earbuds in listening to music quite loud to help me switch my trance state/mind frame.
