It will be due to a short product expiry for a specific batch before a new/fresh batch comes back along with it being at full £RRP again like you have unfortunately experienced.
All products come with an "expiry date", the closer to that expiry date more often than not the cultivators/brand owners will reduce the prices to increase sales of the short dated product(s) before the latest batch is returned to full price.
