Denied for Psychotic Episode on Medical History

I have only ever been diagnosed for ADHD but have suffered from depression and anxiety in the past. But 7 years ago I suffered from phycosis from alot of drink and drug abuse and I was denied access to legal cannabis prescription for this reason. Surely everyone has the right to access this medication no matter their back ground! Is there any way I can get around this issue?

I had psychosis in 2017 after being spiked (24 hour hallucinations, no idea what drug can do that!) but it had nothing to do with cannabis. But it stopped me from getting access to clinics without a doctors support letter, which I’ve just received.

After a failed attempt with Curaleaf, not prescribing suitable medication at a suitable price, I’ll be trying another clinic which has been recommended by one of the lovely members on here at MedBud, in the new year. Fingers crossed.

Cannabis really helps with my anxiety, depression and unstable mood disorders, really, really need to get sorted with a clinic asap.

I've got a very good friend who we helped through the process. They were previously sectioned twice several years ago with episodes of psychosis and was subsequently diagnosed with further comorbidities. They are now doing very well and growing each and everyday. Compliant with medication, compliant with their mental health team and got the OK from their team and a letter saying no objections to commencing treatment for medicinal as they already knew they smoked BM.
This was with Curaleaf also. An example of how the industry professionals are very happy to take people on a case by case basis. And as others have said, honesty is the best policy. Great to hear that the professionals are looking to help patients and not hinder unlike regulators.

Cb1medical will not accept applications for anyone with Psychosis on their records even with a GP support letter.

So for anyone with Psychosis on their records don’t bother with Cb1medical, it’ll just be another smack in the face and you’ll feel like a failure again. Stuck with the black market.

Cannabis Clinic Cardiff is where I'm applying although I don't have psychosis in my history but this is the clinic that specialises in MH and offers what I see as the best service as I'll have access to every medication available and discounts where applicable and smaller weights .ie.3.5 grams that others are refusing to offer and this will help me .
I'm currently waiting for my doctors to get back to CCC then hopefully all will be good.

I’ve got a mental health appointment on Jan 29th, I’m telling mental health either a) they get me with in a clinic or b) I’ll continue to use the black market, come off the antipsychotics, opiates and my days with mental health, therapists, psychiatrist are over.

Yeah I had the same issue with CB1 Medical, I was accepted with Curaleaf thankfully. I seem to remember you weren't happy with there service though you want the vape carts right? Hoping to discuss some other options on my next appointment as the night time oil seems a bit meh.

I was going to go with the one @GrownHealth recommended if curaleaf fell through. Seems pricey at first but hes shown its not too bad and hey cant put a price on beeing well. Really hope you get sorted with one soon

Your case with being spiked echo's someone very dear to me's plight and whilst this happened in the 90's it's the root of their issue getting on medical although he was prescribed but not dispensed as they couldn't find the doctors notes surrounding the incident anyway 12 months later he's finally ready to try again and although he was originally prescribed at Mamedica® he didn't have the doctors note that you have and he probably would of been totally ok if he had the letter you have , so as well as the clinic me and others in your situation are trying there are still others that would cater for your needs with your documentation no problem from my experience.
With this other person he see's it as last chance saloon but has real hope with Cannabis Clinic Cardiff as the Specialist who is there he's already had an appointment with in the past .

I’m actually thinking this is all about the harvest time. For “unstable” people like me, we need extra mature buds for the extra CBN content, to act as a sedative like diazepam or a sleeping tablet like zopiclone. Whereas “normal” people this would be too ‘couch lock’ and sedate you more than required.

I think they know they’re not providing that kind of medication, it doesn’t contain the CBN we need and that’s why it’s unsuitable, with the more clear/cloudy trichomes i see in the buds it would increase the anxiety and speedy like high, which wouldn’t be appropriate for someone like me, perfect for pain relief but useless as a mood stabiliser. We’d need a “specialist grower” to provide more over- mature buds, and that doesn’t fit with profit margins.
