So my pharmacy has had my prescription since Tuesday, they contacted me on Wednesday to confirm details and sent through my expected costs of the prescription and asked me to agree to the price and said my invoice would be sent in due course once they have my medications ready. I contacted them on Friday to ask for an update as I still had not received an invoice and they had messaged to say they still didn’t have my medications ready. Is it usual to be this delayed? I have seen stories meds are usually dispensed 24-48 hours after receiving the prescription. Is it just because it’s so close to Christmas everyone is ordering their medications at the same time? My partner ordered her new prescription on the Tuesday and was here by Wednesday so I was a bit disheartened mine still are not ready. Any one else having any difficulty getting their prescriptions?

Without knowing I'd say different pharmacy's take differing amounts of time ,some will have stock already and some having to order it in , this may help with other's previous experiences ,as I'm new to using anything but Mamedica®.
Remembering you have the choice of any. (y)

Yeah I saw this thread my order is with specials pharma, so may just be a stock issues but when my meds were prescribed the doctor checked what was in stock before he ordered the meds so I’m not sure what the delay was but I hope by Monday or Tuesday I get my invoice through an get the meds sent out

Always the optimist here and lets just hope is was that ,a stock issue and it's sorted itself out over the weekend ,but personally I would contact them on Monday in the hope it can be paid for and sent there and then or at least you'd get an idea of what's happening.

I wouldn’t mind if this was an order where I already had medications just waiting on an e-mail everyday hoping my meds are being dispatched. Noted for future to order well in advance haha

I do exactly that , sometimes think I'm a pain in the arse I put it in that early 😁 but obviously with your first that's not an option. Also think once your up and running you'll have no problems staying ahead .
I put mine in about 2 weeks an a couple of days max after receiving an order.(y)

I’ll definitely have to do that so I’m never in this position again, I suppose with it being Christmas it’s a very busy period for them so im sure a lot of orders are behind!

Just wondering when your best putting your next one in as with the Christmas breaks an that you made need to put it in sooner than you think ,because if your first gets dispensed in the next couple of days you'll be due another delivery early January,
Could be worth double checking with your clinic if they have not already told you when to put it in.

This all comes from how Specials Pharma operate compared to other pharmacies, you will only receive your estimate until the medication is actually dispatched - then you'll receive your invoice through, sometimes even the day after delivery.

They run a trust-based system where medications are sent out before payment by default - only popular MC pharmacy that operates in this way.

While they do have quite a bit of stock - most medications will need to be ordered in. Dependent on supplier/distributor that can be anything from next-day, to a few days. If you let me know what was on your script, I have access to their doctor's formulary and can confirm their actual stock status for each.

If you need meds urgently, they'll happily send out in two lots (£10 charge for second delivery) - with what they have now, then what comes in later.

I didn’t realise they would send it out before asking for the invoice? That’s a decent system. Yeah my prescription was:
  • Origine nature chemdawg OG 10g
  • Noidecs humble warrior 10 g
  • Curaleaf oil T20 Indica
I’m probably just being impatient but just really wanted to get the delivery and see what they are like and see what I would like for my next order! If they send the invoice after they send the meds it may be here Monday! Fingers crossed! 😊

My clinic didn’t really say when to put my next order in just said all order for Christmas have to be in by the 16th I think they had said, I may send them a message this week and see what they suggest in that regard, hadn’t really thought of that! Good idea to check for sure, thanks! 😊

You've got a big mix of three distributors there, none are things they're likely to have in stock. While it's not fair for me to name them, there's one there that often leaves pharmacies waiting for 4-5 days. Give Specials Pharma a call on Monday and see what they're waiting on.

Cannabis Clinic Cardiff recommend 14 days before running out if I remember correctly, wouldn't worry about this personally until around New Year - if this lot is meant to last until mid January.

Well that probably explains the delay. Yeah I’ll give them a call on Monday and see what they are waiting on. Thank you very much for the advice and help 😊

So Royal Mail was supposed to deliver my meds today, said it would be delivered by 3pm Royal Mail tracker still says ‘in transit’ at the mail office. I find this odd anyone have anything similar, I’m worried they have pulled the parcel and found the medication or something I’ve heard horror stories before of police turning up at peoples doors due to Royal Mail searching parcels with medication in them. Probably overthinking it just first time delivery and it’s delayed 🤦🏽

To me it just sounds like updating on the tracker, only once I think has it not turned up on the day royal mail said I think and then it came next day but lets hope its with you before the end of the day, just to add I've not heard of any meds going missing with the Royal Mail but others may have 🤷‍♂️

There’s story floating round on YouTube that royal mailed pulled a guys medication and because it was flower called the police and then they came to his house to question him. I’ve been worried about that happening to me haha knowing my luck it will 🤦🏽 hopefully it’s just late

50,000 prescriptions per month probably most containing flower sent through the mail ,you'll soon get used to the fact it's legal as medication, all my mates think the same thing that its screened and it makes your house on top ,actually the opposite it makes you legit to have it and use it ,but it is a complete mindset change and I'm probably only just getting proper relaxed about it now like vaping outdoor and such.
If the postie has not already called today then there's still a chance of today so 🤞

We all had worse than weed sent to us in the post. And this is legal. Takes time to get out of that mindset. I just never had it thanks to being a bit or a nut when I was younger. Ohh the team trust days walking round like a storm trooper for those who know
