So a little bit of brief background, for the last 16 months, i have lost a little bit of weight, down from 120kg to 70kg. Don't yet know the cause, had CT scan of head, chest and abdomen, X-ray, endoscopy, Bloods and more done.

Anyway, had another endoscopy booked for today, and this doctor who had asked the most basic questions about my issues, having known the bloke for less than 2 minutes, saw my list of meds and straight away told me to cut out the cannabis, going so far as the blame the cannabis, and it even says in my report "advised patient to stop using medical cannabis as this will be exacerbating symptoms"

WTF! i specifically told him that i have only been on the medical going onto my 3rd month, and only been on back on the black market from around my birthday in March. I explained to categorically that cannabis has nothing what so ever to do with unexplained condition, nor does it make me worse in any way what so ever, and in fact quite the opposite, with regards to helping motivate eating, as the prospect of eating only to throw up is not a nice one..

Anyway, screw that NHS doctor and his prejudice towards cannabis, i hope he stubs his big toe every day for a month!

Any of you had to deal with doctors like this?

I have had a few comedian doctors but nothing too serious.
I also have doctors who are very positive about me taking medical cannabis and say it is better than taking loads of different pharmaceutical drugs.
I have stopped taking liquid morphine through cannabis and whenever I get any stigma I just tell them that I get prescribed of a doctor and it is medical cannabis that has been tested.
I hope you get better soon mate

I've had nothing but negativity from NHS GP's regarding cannabis and medical cannabis, I tend to never mention it these days just find it makes them act weird with you or try to belittle you

NHS treat patients who are struggling to eat etc with cannabis to stimulate their appetite and a whole host of other things... and your losing weight rapidly so that's kind of controversial to say cannabis is worsening your conditions... Dronabinol is a synthetic THC which binds to the cannabinoid receptors " CB1 Medical and CB2" which may help with euphoria, appetite enhancement, analgesia, and nausea... it's useable in certain medical devices such as the Volcano Medic 2 etc

Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with this person as I've experienced a GP scapegoating cannabis as the cause of the problem I'm now treated by MC with:rolleyes: and having also witnessed similar weight loss with my wife albeit over a longer period of time we attribute it to one of the NHS meds she's on (leflunamide)as it causes gradual weight loss as a side effect but didn't really start when she started the tablets but about a year later and maybe it's an NHS med possibly causing this although it could be something else .

I do find Cannabis can suppress my appetite and some can stimulate it but I wouldn't say this is the cause of your weight less as you pointed it that you didn't even use canna until just recently and it does appear the doctor was looking for an easy answer in his mind but quite frankly is a poor show in my mind and hopefully gets less and less frequent as these doctors get familiar with MC and the relief it provides .

I too wish they stubs his big toe every day for a month😅
