Temper expectations here slightly, from my point of view it will be probably 2 years from now until product is on the market. I suspect next year or two we'll see more importing from GLO as a stop-gap - just hopefully the perceived quality is on-point
Yes agreed about the time when their own products will be on the Market and Flower in the meantime will be imported, There was talk about 2 cultivars providing the flower, Canadian and Portuguese. The Flower going through at the moment is the Canadian Cultivar who's business is Family run, reading about them. Last year I read up about the Portuguese Cultivar and that is a Family run business who also grow organic olives on the same land. Hopefully we may see some products of there's too.
As far as we know, what's coming is from BC Green (or 'Castle Rock' as their brand is known in Canada) - not sure if it's a family-run business or not.

This may be 'Herdade das Barrocas' based on the description.
PS: A 'cultivar' is what's traditionally called a 'strain', a 'cultivator' grows cannabis.
Think I remember seeing in one the update protein the last 6 months that they were going to work on extracts as well before they're be fully operational. I was having dreams of top quality hash, but in hindsight don't think the doctors would prescribe it .damn.

I've corrected Cultivar/Cultivator damm predictive text, I didn't read back, sometimes I can type too quickly and sometimes I hit reply before I'm finished writing too

Yes the extracts will be cold pressed using ice and no Flavourings added in at the end of the process like some oils. It will be the 1st Company in Europe to do so.

I remember Herdade das Barrocas too being mentioned a few months back to do with GLO. Seems a few Brands use Herdade das Barrocas, obviously their own stuff as well as the Big Narstie range.

Thinking ahead, I am hoping GLO wiill go from strength to strength. But I fully expect there will be trolling and pile-ons of totally new order and degree. And there will be people queuing up to be unusually aggressive and unfair if any different experiences arise.
There was always going to be a problem with unreasonable expectations. A crowdfunding scenario will always result in complaints. That's life. Especially when it's investing in a business and not just a prepay of product prototype. But GLO and Cancard were encouraging investors more broadly than normal. Building that community component is admirable, Many of those investors don't really understand business though, let alone regulatory factors. Some of the conversations by patients on Seedrs have been a bit crap over the last year . With tone out of place IMHO, even when GLO had to improve comms a bit.
But then add an MC specific cultural cherry on top: the often vitriolic disregard against legacy market "patients" by many loud MC voices when going after Cancard. That fed some pretty unhinged/selfish attacks IMHO on the edges in particular. Even regardless of Cancard being a fallible bunch of humans.
Not a prediction. But it's unusually plausible there will be weird nastiness because it's GLO. Being cruel to Carly and team is socially acceptable. It's even encouraged by some.in the community.
The GLO updates to investors, and the chat underneath over the last year has been proper peeved peeps. Whether their right or wrong I just avoid that kind of hate and stopped checking up.

Very much so, I have been reading the seedrs comments for a while, it's just been attack attack attack by some people and it saddens me sometimes. There is no pleasing people. GLO and the Cancard team have worked extremely hard to get where we are. If people understood what is involved into setting up a business like this .maybe they would understand. I've been lucky enough to experience this years ago and the 2ing and throwing that can happen sometimes, especially a business like this where your dealing with Government and everything else involved is a Giant undertaking. I was lucky enough to take the early appointments, test run. I fully understand people's frustrations but there is no need to behave like some people have on the seedrs platform, it's R Europe now.
Do you know if that free appointment is needed to access the discounted GLO imports?
I never took them up on that appointment. No good reason, I just couldn't follow through recently. But honestly don't want to just change clinic for no good reason anyway. Especially as I'd have considered Mamedica® or CB1 Medical, if I change.
Despite what I wrote above, I do think that kind of comms needed to be better. It was ok for people with no clinic at all. But unclear for people with existing clinics and no desire to change.
It's almost like they ordered an Amazon or Deliveroo delivery of a start-up company itself. And that it would just happen because people pressed pay on a card payment screen one day.

I've been amongst the first calling out Cancard's missteps publicly, I still today have a huge issue with how their card is advertised as police-recognised ID, and generally in MedBud's Public Charter we spell out that we believe unofficial cards are damaging to patients, or at least all whom aren't carrying one.
It creates the wrong expectations entirely, considering no cannabis card is legally-recognised identification whatsoever.
Yes, I've seen people cross the line far too much. When Carly put out an emotional appeal about her sick dog, half the community mocked her - I actually sent £20 over in sympathy. The cruelty and nastiness some people possess is bewildering. Carly may make decisions not everyone agrees with, but I don't doubt her heart is in the right place.
There's a stark difference between constructive criticism, versus personally trying to attack and ridicule someone.

Agreed. The Cancard really is for people who can't afford a prescription also maybe a lifeline while people are waiting to get an appointment. It doesn't protect you 100% but some police officers/forces are quite sympathetic and tend to let you go when showing the card if your not causing any hassle in the community, but not all.
