UK Government Petition: Introduce 'Grow Your Own' Laws for Legal Medical Cannabis Patients (CBPM)

Once again we've launched a petition to allow patients to grow their own medical cannabis. Last time around we achieved over 10,000 signatures and forced a government response.

At 10,000 signatures we'll again receive a government response, this time addressing a change in licensing/scheduling directly.

If we can get to 100,000 signatures, our petition will have to be openly discussed in parliament.

If you pay attention and take ya time it's such a simple process and the Internet has an answer for any question.

I mean the deeper you go the better you can maximise quality but it's pretty straight forward to get going. Like I've heard many old heads say, it's called weed for a reason.

When I first became a Gardner it was a few grow forums and breedbay. The holy grail of seeds and cross collecting. The old sonic seeds and so many other amazing breeders are all but vanished from the scene by the looks of it

I haven't grown weed since I was a teenager, but grew up with everyone around me doing it. We had 3 growers most of the time in a village of 1,200.

In basic I reckon I'd need a 2m x 1m tent and 2 x 300w LED lights, plus some airflow/humidity bits. <£100pm on electric, and probably <£200pa on growing medium, nutrients etc. Maybe £3,000 first year cost, <£1500 a year thereafter.

Thing is I'd want to do staggered crops so I'm not just stuck with a crop every 4 months - so some plants are in early veg, while others are flowering, others are drying etc. - I'd ideally want two tents (different light cycles) and a dedicated drying area too. That's more than I can probably squeeze into my property without building an extension or some such.

I bet a ton of patients simply wouldn't have the space.

Me mate used to get great results using sannies' seeds ,price was amazing but I personally used to pay a pretty penny for some seeds .
Best stuff was always cuts that come through the UK community through connected peeps at the time and shared.

I always grew from seed, there are a few good seed companies with good genetics.

If I had the space I would, it's a good hobby as I said to my Consultant once, he cringed when I spoke about growing my own

I'm sure I've seen him mention it in a vid over the past couple of months! But a dedicated, informative video from someone like himself would gain the petition some further traction, for sure.

Patients prescribed 'CBPM' by a medical specialist should be allowed to maintain 3-6 flowering plants (with extra considerations for starting new seedlings.) 'GYO' registration database could be maintained via local council, notifying police of local medical grows - similar to Canadian setup.

I did add it in the comments on one of his vids before xmas and asked if that was okay, it got removed, not sure if that was him or YouTube but I assume the latter.

N P K & ph check safer bet for beginner try an autoflower , but best from seed or cutting as we all make mistakes , it's a good thing tho, because you learn it can cost you months , stress, annoyed, patience and make it easy as adding , grow, flower, boost and a pack of northern lights seeds , white widow or afghan 1, any Indica if stuck for space (S C R O G) , peace

Think this petition should be called the Common Sense in Practice Petition .
The financial cost are killing us and the combined costs are stupid for a couple in our situation as we are prescribed 120g+/month combined so 1.5Kg/year but our only legal option is to purchase it at £4.95/g minimum
Seriously frustrated with this today as I know it's not getting better and a simple thing like the washing machine needing replacing starts to become a massive struggle .
My instinct says just crack on but I started medical to become legal in my use of Canna but personally I'm a tipping point and need a massive change in the financial challenges Medical Cannabis is imposing on us to get the correct treatment .
Starting to feel stupid exercising self control

So after a month of waiting I chased my Irish doctor again to get an e-mail saying the same as I told CB1 Medical...... I have not been in Ireland since they last issued my records so please use the ones I already shared. In the mean time Curaleaf formulary is actually decreasing (down to 38 of 97 in stock now) and there is nothing that I haven't tried/know won't work for me. What choice does that leave me? Hobsons...

I feel your pain (more so than ever now I am officially redundant but not able to search for work as in appeal process). The whole situation needs to change and soon, or, I am just going to up sticks to a country that is more focussed on patients and eradicating the black market than putting profits in its OxBridge buddies pockets.
