Intros Hello. New here and a bit confused. (Vape Carts)

Hello, I’m 42, been using cannabis for over 20 years. Was baking hash cakes back in the 90’s, made canna butter, coconut extracts and iso extracts in the past. I figured if I’m going edible, oil and vape legal was the way forward…

I was hoping to use cartridges, they are listed as for sale by Curaleaf, they are on MedBud and on their website. One of the main reasons I chose curaleaf. I’ve used BM ones in the past and they work amazingly, very discreet, not to high dose in one go, all a big plus for my mental health.

Curaleaf just said during the consultation they’re not doing carts so won’t be on my script, so that’s down side 1, I didn’t want to carry a load of weed when I’m visiting mum in the dementia ward, or sat waiting for a train, I’d much rather a less smelly vape cart I can use discreetly - I also don’t fancy pulling out a syringe of oil and having a dose in a coffee shop or out in the street or on the train. I enjoy mountain walking so I don’t really want to be carrying syringes, I’d rather have a vape looking over the views…

Next comes the pastilles, even more confusing, a pack of 28x 10mg are £68.60 that’s 280mg, there’s 150mg in 1g of weed so you’d be paying £68.60 for less than 2g of equivalent in flower 2g = 300mg and I’ve seen flower at £8 per g, so it would be considerably cheaper just to buy the flower and vape it?

If my maths are correct it would be stupid to buy anything but flower if the carts aren’t on offer..

Does anyone know of a clinic that still prescribes vape carts?

Much appreciated. Love to all
Welcome Andy 👍

Thanks for everyone’s advice/support much love ❤️ But the “straw that broke the camels back” happened a few months ago, I did cancel the mental health appointment.

I’ve emailed Curaleaf saying I want to cancel my application and cancel the subscription. Legal market is too confusing, too many clinics, you’ve no idea who does what or prescribes what for what condition, and I don’t have the energy left to keep applying, every name I look at I get “just going to be a waste of time” head thinking.

I think the way forward with the legal market is link GPs-Mental Health-and the clinics, the the mental health can send you to the right clinic for the right medication. Rather than say okay you can use cannabis, then put you in “looking for a needle in a haystack” and ending up with the wrong clinic situation, even more stressful for a patient. I see a few threads people switching clinics… so it seems common.

Anyway, Good luck to all, let’s hope they make it legal or allow patients to grow their own soon.

✌️

Evening @AndyH82 ,reckon you've done the right thing regards Curaleaf as why pay for what you don't want.
As mentioned keep your eye in here as you might see the light at the end of the tunnel as I change clinics after 16 months with my current one and I'll be certain to get the clinic that facilitates my needs as changing clinics is not something I plan on doing again .

We currently have A GYO petition here for medical patients if your not already aware and this is the dream but at the same time I strongly feel a necessity.

Already signed! Been signing these for years, just need to get the numbers up.

I try to get others to sign but too many ‘influencers’ say “petitions don’t work” and encourage others not to sign and make people believe they can’t make a difference. Was in a group on Facebook, one of their admin has links to Integro, he was the first person to say don’t sign the petition, but people don’t realise if we can grow our own the clinics loose money. We’ve now got the dealers who don’t want it legal, and now these multi millionaires owning “legal cannabis farms” who don’t want it legal for us, and the clinics also need it illegal for us to grow as their profit margins would vanish, too many people profiting from this legal for some/illegal for others situation.

The only people to actually benefit would be the cannabis users themselves.

Absolutely seen this myself ,the don't sign brigade rubbishing it when for me it would do quite nicely and would assist a hell of a lot of patients and open up other possibilities. Also I can semi understand why Industry would be siding against it but when patients join the chorus it can be a bit hard to understand .

Even If the laws are relaxed I would still get some MC from clinics but these would be products that complimented what I had produced and probably a third of what I buy at the moment (y)

I can't see it being relaxed anytime soon. We have to make being Prescribed Cannabis works for us as Patients in the meantime. There have already been some positive changes and if we work at it, we can make changes for the better for all us Patients. It's the only thing we can do for now, no way are we going to be allowed to grow our own anytime soon.

I would of agreed in the past to an extent @Dooby Doo but the need is apparent and the example is now within western countries ,this never existed before like today, I personally have to approach this with hope as with two MC patients in my household going forward it is a necessity in a way for a bit of financial relief and better weed!

Thing is, the police are already allowing “illegal” coffeeshops around the uk, selling illegal and legal weed? (Check out vids on YouTube - members only cannabis clubs in the uk, police or councils not caring at all)

If they’re allowing a coffeeshops to sell cannabis illegally, from illegal dealers, from an illegal supply… why is that ok, but us growing our own small supply is several years behind bars and a criminal record.

Does anyone know the laws regards onwards processing your med bud? Like is pressing your flower using a dabpress or similar acceptable? If yes I would be going down the flower route and pressing your own oil to make carts with or washing you flowers and making bubble.

This dude @Smacksalad does this regular as do others I believe so it's not as uncommon as some would think but I personally am not sure the laws surrounding it but if others don't give a better answer I'll find out something more definitive .

Sadly this comes under “processing”, so would be a no no. I asked about making edibles from flower - decarb - coconut oil extraction - then make cakes from oil. Been told that’s “illegal” and was banned from a Facebook group for suggesting baking cakes was better and healthier than vaping.

The other problem with extraction, especially butane extraction there’s a huge explosion risk - idiots indoors with highly explosive fumes, then it’s needing a vacuum chamber to make sure all the solvents are gone. Iso extraction is similar, lots of explosive fumes, if done indoors.

Rosin press on the other hand… expensive, you could use hair straighteners, gloves and some parchment paper.. so for the price of flower now, it would definitely be a cheaper option than buying carts, but definitely a no no.. until WE change the law, or there’s an agreement about MC use. We’d actually be better growing our own, then you’d be picking high rosin producing strains for maximum yields of rosin. Fingers crossed for the future. ❤️

Thanks as ever dude, if it's allowed then maybe we can get a thread going sharing what squishes well and best temps etc. SWIM found anywhere around 160 with Curaleaf stuff gives a budder consistency and anything above 170 is more taffy/oil like :) But SWIM said it varies from strain to strain so if we can all save each other some trial and error then win win:)

You could say your press vapourizers flower into oil 🤔🤣🤣. Don't say anything, ah but you already have, shit! 🤣🤣. Your not supposed to, but if your going to vape it, I don't see an issue mate

For personal usage a decent 4 ton press with 4 x 4 plates can be had for a reasonable price nowadays, shame we are being dictated to and forced to smoke inferior more dangerous produce in the name of our health. Long term fan of baking, even back when all we got was morrocan and other commercial hashes with the occasional bit of 'bush'. Fully seeded peppery african grass round our way.

I miss my first doctor at Curaleaf, told him straight been smoking 30 years ain't mending my ways for nobody, he said as long as it works for you I have zero 🦆's to give. I've been using the "conducting experiment" defence from day one :poop:

Personally can't see the harm in that as its discussed openly on MC YouTube as in pressing and which produce the most rosin also rosin carts are about to become available very soon on Medical to the best of my knowledge so pretty relevant to work out value too.
Cant see the wrong in squishing but if I'm wrong we'll find out .
Talking BHO extraction and such I'd expect to be too far? but rosin presses I want to know about 😊

Check out the Americans legally showing how to press rosin, all the vids on YouTube!
