Intros Hi all 😃

Welcome to the community @Hollee75 and we have members with epilepsy who have benefitted greatly from Medical Cannabis so I would say it is definitely worth trying as it seems it was possibly working in a medicinal way previously when you used it like many of us for many years.

Hi all newbie here been smoking black market weed for 30 years stopped smoking for a month and had 2 epileptic fits after my 50th birthday doctor put me on medication for epilepsy not sleeping and mood swings looking into medical is it a good idea? Thanks 🙂
Get back on the flower asap if you have been off it , they meds are terrible. Just get summery of care from docs and join a clinic and tell them how much you were using seizure free and pick some sedative strains . Look into some oil as a base or 10mg THC 10mg CBD pastilles , i am on Curaleaf 20mg THC 10mg CBD oil 1ml per day 0.5 x 2 and it works well as a base then vape for outdoors and flower for indoors both used for appetite and sleep which is important for epilepsy . Start low n slow if been away from it for a while but get on it asap.

Hello there,

Pharma meds are not the best thing to have, I would recommend a full spectrum of cannabinoids in the oil. Terpenes have a massive impact on the medical side but normally the more strains that get produced into a single oil forum is the best way.

Also if you could get higher levels of CBG on a strain that would be more beneficial people talk a lot about terpenes but the cannaboides are crucial.

The problem is minor cannabinoids are not regarded as theraputic enough to be listed an yet they still dont know enough about THC and CBD. Not a large amount of data on CBG but it does show promise in working with other cannabinoids and i think could be added to existing anti epileptic drugs.
They still unsure why CBD is so effective for epilepsy but imo its anandamide it raises and i think thats 1 of the main reasons that its effective.

Cbdv shows promise and thcv but thcv is an appetite suppressor so not the best or has to be used with appetite stimulant. Delta 9 is both pro and anti convulsant so something to keep in mind, looking at previous usage with no seizure ye could say THC is anti convulsant so imo i would get back on it and use CBD to upregulate cb1r to keep everything tip top and not contributing to what could be existing clinical endocannabinoid deficiency which i think anandamide is crucial .

If we use the term entourage effect then we cant ignore russos CEC Deficiency. The nueromodulatory effects of terpenes cant be ignored in dealing with epilepsy as its about finding what doesnt work for you as it can be easy to see what works. I would say that cannabinoids work better with terpenes and flavourants and the MAIN reason full spectrum oil is more theraputic than a distillate THC /CBD oil by far imo but trial and error for what works for each individual.

Welcome to MedBud @Hollee75.

I can't say I know anythijng about cannabis and epilepsy outside of the fact it can be prescribed for it and many have said it helps 10-fold. I say book yourself a consultation and see what the doc has to say!
