Hi All! Please excuse me if my formatting is all over the place, I haven't posted on a forum in many years!

Yesterday I sent in an application to Curaleaf. I only just discovered that I could potentially get MC for issues that have been affecting me for years at this point with no fix from GPs or specialists (and oh so so so many tests). I didn't even know this could be an option for me! I really do hope my application gets considered

I do have a question or two if someone could please help:

I have only ever smoked cannabis twice when I was like 18 and did not get on too well with it (nausea), and I have given up smoking / vaping completely for 5+ years. I wouldn't like to go back to vaping and I have seen that the go-to for lots of people seems to be vaping or smoking - I would like to know, if accepted, will the clinic take that preference into account and are the oil or edibles as good as smoking or vaping? I want to have the best chance at potentially getting relief from these symptoms and worry that I might be boxing myself in.

Secondly (this is more of a I have no patience thing) but how long do clinics usually take to respond to applications? I understand they need to get a response from my GP and I've read that it can take a month. Is this usual?

Thanks guys, I feel like a trespasser being here as a complete cannabis newbie and I apologise if I have used the incorrect lingo!!!

Welcome to the Community @michnana1.
It can take some time for your clinic to obtain your Medical Health records but I don't know how long it takes Curaleaf to get your Consultation date. There's plenty of people here who are with cura who can guide you more.
People usually send in their summary of care (SOC) themselves from their NHS App which can speed things up for a Consultation.
Hope you receive your Consultation in good time 👍

Welcome to the forum @mitchnana1 and your not a trespasser in the slightest and the questions you raise are very relevant and as a near newbie to canna I would probably say any form of medicating will be a help compared to not using as your are now and some people get great relief from oils and edibles and to start with you would need to build a tolerance up but as you gradually become used to it you would get an idea if you thought vaping could give more relief but for myself it does .They would certainly take into account your request for not vaping I'd think without a problem but on follow up appointments you could alter this to suit your needs as you go along .

Usually things are a lot quicker obtaining records etc but they are obliged to provide them within a month but it's often sooner .

Putting a post here because why not. Over the weekend, I decided to try and get access to my records on the NHS app as I thought it would speed up the process and there is just like no information on there at all. I screenshotted my medication history and uploaded it but any summary of care or even past diagnoses / tests were just not on the app. Hoping this doesn't casuse problems for Curealeaf getting access.
(ive emailed my GP asking whats up as well)

Anyway fingers crossed everything works out ok. I've been thinking about it all weekend, one of those anxiety things i guess :)

I couldn't get the full report through my app back then. I needed to request that directly from my GP with some GDPR form, they produced it in like 2 days. But by that time my clinic ultimately accepted my short summary report that was available in the app. This is the most frustrating part usually, after this big step your only real problem should be strain availability 😆

Hi lads me again - Got accepted and have my initial consultation on Friday! Super excited to ask a bunch of questions and see if they can help me!

(also just missed a call from Mamaedica, probably because i checked eligibility on their site but didn't complete the application - Hopefully that won't cause any issues with signing to this clinic)

Congratulations on becoming an MC Patient 👌

Don't worry about anything like this, it will be fine. You got your call booked :)

Yo boys me again. Had my call today (not Friday) with Dr Andrea De Angelis. I think it went well he didn't flag anything up that could be wrong it was a very very quick call just boom boom and done.

Hopefully I'll get an email in the next few days? Im not sure how the process works but I assume a prescription needs to be done then I can order!

Thank you guys who helped me in this thread & the site in general for providing all the information to get me informed of what MC entails.

The order is a bit different. One way or another you will either choose strains, or they will choose some for you, not familiar with your clinic's practices.

THEN you will get a prescription for these specific products, which will be then physically sent to the pharmacy and you will only get an electronic copy of the prescription. The pharmacy then will dispense the bud, send you the payment link, then send it via special delivery.

Thank you man! I actually got the confirmation this morning already and my specific prescription is listed on the letter so I assume for Curaleaf (at least to begin with) it works that way, just gotta wait for it to be printed & sent to pharmacy.

I originally wanted to go for the pastilles but the dr was hesitant I assume because I have never used cannabis at all before so have ended up at least starting with an oil which was my second preferred anyway! Good stuff lads i am looking forward to maybe getting some relief on days where relief has felt absent

@mitchnana1 Do you have the Curaleaf App / online access? You will see that your prescription has been printed or not?

Once printed they physically send it to their pharmacy.

Once received by the pharmacy the app will show the prescription as being received. At some point after this you will get a payment link. Once you have paid, the app will show the prescription as issued.

Download the DPD app and you can then see when they receive your package from Curaleaf and delivery is then fairly quick.

In the app you will also see a formulary so you can start thinking about your 2nd prescription, you will have a restricted choice until your one month follow up appointment and then you will be given unrestricted access, dependent on your situation.

Good luck on your journey!
