Hi I'm Jay. I've been a patient for just over a month now.

I'm using Medical Cannabis for severe anxiety which is something I've had since I was in my early teens. It crippled me through School and College and it was only when I discovered Cannabis as a 20 year old that my condition started to get better. I'd tried all types of medication from my Doctor but none worked and if they did they had a negative effect on me in the long run, so I've been a Cannabis user for over 20 years now and it has helped me so much. Like all of you, being accepted to be able to use it legally as a medicine is a godsend.

The process from applying to ordering my first prescription was practically seamless and I was more than happy with how that went. My first chat with the consultant went well and I was prescribed my first month of medicine. Unfortunately things haven't gone well from there. I ordered 60 grams of flower, 5 different strains. 20g of London Jealousy, 10g Bluenicorn, 10g Modified Gas, 10g Tropic Thunder, 10g Sudz. I chose 3 of these based on reviews.

None of them worked for me which I found strange. When I say worked I mean had little to no effect and it felt like I hadn't vaped a thing. They all looked and smelled amazing but when vaped there was nothing there. I understand people have tolerances and it effects people differently but whether its Indica or Sativa I have always felt it hit me not long into vaping/smoking it and none of thse did. This prescription cost me £380 yet 3 days after receiving it I had to go back to see the person I used to see and purchase it illegally from them because what I'd had delivered was basically useless to me. With having anxiety like I do, I can't even begin to explain how I felt sat there at 1am unable to sleep with a box full of Cannabis next to my bed that isn't doing a thing.

I understand that we all use it for different reasons and it affects us differently but I went out and bought decent quality Stardawg earlier and its far stronger than any of the strains I purchased. I joined this clinic to move away from needing to buy criminally and get cleaner better quality medicine but I'm wary that maybe all Medical Cannabis is like this. Although I want my Cannabis to look and smell good my number one priority is it affects me and does what it should and right now the only place I can get that is illegally on the streets which is no good.

One thing I did notice with all 5 strains was it was like they had been flown next to Sun to be dried. I understand they have to make it optimum for vaping but they were all far too dry and I do wonder if thats a big part in why they're so weak.

I had my 1 month review session with my consultant last week and I explained the situation and she has recommended some different strains to me. I've decided I'm going to order just 10 grams of Tyson 2.0 Tiger Milk this week and if its good then I'll get more, if not I'll have to try another. I just can't afford to spend £400-£500 a month on legal weed and then be forced to spend the same amount on buying it off the streets.

I have came across others with the same experience but I'm going to try my best to make this work and hopefully I've just been unlucky and got bad batches etc..

These two below are solid recommendations price aside that are worth trying and personally I didn't get on with Tiger Milk and it was the type of strain to induce anxiety in me but these two are spot on for me and many others also a terpene that works well I find with anxiety in Linalool so it could be worth finding strains with this terpene to see if they are beneficial to you like it is to a few of us here that have to keep similar symptoms in check.
Literally really effective medicine these two ,non irradiated ,effective and in great condition when they arrive .

Also another I recently had that help me relax and kept anxiety at bay was the Wedding Cake below and another I would feel comfortable recommending in this instance .

Thank you, Wedding Cake has always been good for me so will definitely try that out. My Consultant recommended Pave too so I think I'll definitely have to get that ordered. I'll get there, theres no way I'm getting myself on a prescription and the giving up on it. I've spent the last 20 years hoping for this haha.

Absolutely and the solutions are there and I suppose I'm suggesting solid one's but some of the dearest so you don't lose faith but then the trick is finding cheaper strains to keep costs down as you find your way around Medical Cannabis .

Yeah I've smoked it too, I actually prefer smoking it but I do try to vape as much as possible. When I got my first prescription i was like a kid at Xmas. I opened the box and the first one I opened was Modified Gas. I cant even explain how pungent it was when I opened the tub. I've had some smelly weed in the past but this was unreal and it actually looked great too. I thought I'd hit the jackpot so did a vape of it right away and thought it didnt taste right. So I did a raw joint with about 3 grams in and smoked it all over the next 20 mins. Barely did a thing and the taste just wasnt there. Normally when something looks and smells as good as that its been really good but this was a huge let down. Smoked all of the others too and only one had a slight effect and that was Bluenicorn, that was only a tiny headbuzz too.

This is odd to me but that doesn't mean much. Have u tried oil or edibles? Oil is perfect for me as I can use it when I run out bud as it metabolises differently.
Will you try that?

Welcome to the Community @JayG303. You had a couple of good strains on your first script and I'm surprised non of them seemed to work for you. I've actually found that myself with a couple of strains and put it down to probably storage or just a bad batch. Medical cannabis is not as fresh as BM because of how much moisture is allowed in Medical Flower. That doesn't help at all when your use to more terpy taste which is actually part of the healing properties and part of the medicine in the plant. I've actually got use to it now but when I get flower that's a bit too dry and muted it can be off putting, There is MC Flower with plenty of the terpenes your looking for out there, i hope you find the right ones for yourself that work for your condition/s

Welcome  I had modified gas on last months script and didn't rate it myself no terpenes and lack of power imo. The pave should be a winner especially if you like Dawg. I smoke and vape the flower when I receive it to see which suits the flower more as it depends on what the breeders/cultivators looking for when make their selection.



Also look into irradiated and non irradiated if you haven't already hope everything works out! there's lots of sound people on here that will help if you need.

Hey Jay, I'm really surprised the mod gas, london jealousy & sudz did nothing for you, haven't tried any of them yet but they're quite highly rated/reviewed... Been smoking BM for over 20 years I consumed roughly 3.5g a day (every day) The 6 strains I ordered on my first script definitely have good effect; Apples & Gas/BC Green, Wedding Pop Triangle/ Curaleaf, Wedding Cake/ Peace Naturals®, Ultra Sour/ 4C Labs, Jokerz/ 4C Labs & Puffo Gelato/ 4C Labs

I have to admit having that as a first selection would turn me off medical altogether. I still have multiple G of Blunicorn, Modified Gas and Tropic Thunder from past scripts that I could barely even start in some cases. Sudz I enjoyed and I've never had London Jealousy on medical.

Unfortunately we are forever playing the rat race of finding something that works, then it goes OOS, then you have to try a few to find something that works again, and so the cycle continues. You do start to build a collection of what works for you but it takes a fair bit of time.

This forum/website is probably the best resource for finding strains whether it's an anecdotal recommendation, terp profile recommendations, etc.

Dry weed is hallmark of MC for the most part. Some brands like 4C Labs will add Boveda packs so the moisture levels remain consistent throughout storage but the sucky reality is that we're using bud that's been irradiated and then remediated to fuck, thrown in plastic/mylar packaging and then left for 6 months in some warehouse. My opinion is the packaging fucks the product up more than the irradiation (except Gamma, that shit is nasty). We need glass/cermaic lined jars with included boveda's for the flower to have any real chance.

All we can really do is throw them in some amber glass immediately after receiving, add a boveda/boost and pray the flower has enough life in it bring its terpenes back to life. I usually have to wait 5+ days to see any decent results but that's not a given.

Some brands are better than others but a recreational/street grown variant of anything we get on medical will almost always be fresher and better.

That said, there are a few diamonds in the rough. Cheaper strains like Sudz, Jokerz are quite highly thought of. and on the expensive end there's a far better selection of quality flower ( Peace Naturals®, Aurora®, Craft Botanics, etc.)

I myself am a big Tyson 2.0 fan. I never used to be but the recent batches of Tiger Milk and Haymaker Haze have been very good. TM has about 14 months until expiry but a lot of people are not a fan of the taste. It's a real pungeant, earthy, almost damp kush. A lot of patients use in the day time but it knocks me right out and I often use it along with Pave and Chapel of Love in the evenings.

Definitely only grab 10g to start with but I think you're set up with the best it can offer of Tiger Milk. if it misses for you then I probably wouldn't return to it or consider Haymaker Haze (they're different but equally as sickly for many).

Thank you for your reply and apologies for my late response. You've gave me some hope here as what you're saying makes perfect sense. I'd say most of these that I received had a staleness to them and since I received them I'm pretty sure 2 of them have gone OOS and one is due to expire in August. I didn't do myself any favours when choosing strains but I know a lot more now and hopefully I'll get it right soon.

My consultant recommended Pave and a few other people have mentioned it so I think I should definitely give it a go. Hopefully the Tyson 2.0 will hit the spot, you've definitely gave me hope there so I'll make sure to come back and let you know what I think of it.

Although it didn't work for me the Sudz did have a Boveda in and was by far the freshest of the lot, I was gutted it didn't work me. It was actually a replacement for a strain that was out of stock (Creamy keys) so came a week later than the others . By then I'd worked out none of the others were any good so I was desperate for it to do the job but no joy.

I'm also going to look into changing clinics. Unfortunately I've had items added to this months invoice that I didn't ask for and they're charging me for taking it off. When I had my consultation last week I explained the situation and said I'll just take 10g of flower this week and then get the rest throughout the month. They've added THC oil to the invoice and now want to charge me £15 to take it off.

These sign up Fees are a Joke too, how can a Clinic make a contract that you've got to stay with them or get charged 3/4 months after you decide that clinic isn't for you and leave! I was reading this on some websites last night, listening to a couple of patients. This shouldn't be allowed.
