Hey, I’m Steven. I’m a UK medical cannabis patient using it to manage fibromyalgia, adverse neural dynamics, depression, and anxiety.

Like most 16-year-olds, I tried cannabis briefly back in the day — but didn’t touch it again until 2023. In September, I started dealing with severe chronic pain, and by November I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and adverse neural dynamics. The months that followed were brutal. Doctors just kept throwing painkillers at me that didn’t help. For two years, I was stuck. I barely left the house — and when I did, I wouldn’t even get out of the car.

After a lot of research, one thing kept coming up in studies and trials: medical cannabis. Me and my wife talked about it for weeks. We’ve got three kids (16M, 12F, 3F), so it wasn’t a decision we took lightly. We didn’t want to hide it, but we did want to store it safely and responsibly — so we found a Moonlight Haze smell-proof storage system that works really well.

There was also the stigma to deal with.

At first, I was with Curaleaf Clinic, but the cost started stacking up — £169 for my first prescription, and £10 a month for membership. I’ve recently switched to CB1 Medical, which has been a big improvement. They offer a better range of flower at the same price or cheaper, and my first year of membership was free. Even after that, it’s only £50 per year — way more affordable.

Medical cannabis hasn’t fixed everything, but it’s helped massively with pain, sleep, stress, and just being able to function. I’m here to track the strains I try, figure out what works, and hopefully connect with others on a similar journey. No hype, no BS — just trying to live a bit easier, one day at a time.

Welcome to the forum Steven👏

it's refreshing to see you have took control of your treatment and for the better as with a young family you need the best you can get to aid in trying to keep things under control and with CB1 Medical the flexibility and choices seem suited to many including my wife who has many symptoms in common to what you describe and we found ourselves in similar circumstances to yourself with a young family.

Thankfully you have found a way forward at a more affordable clinic to continue your MC journey and you'll find plenty of fellow members with similar backgrounds here all coming together to find what works best for them and sharing their experiences so just ask or join in where you want to as we are a warm and welcoming bunch(y)
