Welcome to the Community @Timely, You could try CB1 Medical, its £50 for the year and free for your first year if your transferring from another clinic. I find them excellent for service and I get to choose my own Medical Flower. I've been with them coming on 9mths and no issues so far
Thank you .
Next question would be, how are the flowers? As I’ve heard some people putting a downer on it and saying the flowers look old but has this been the case for you ? Surely as you’ve been with them for 9months this has not been an issue?
and as I’ve paid consultation fees with releaf, CB1 is worth trying if I don’t have to pay further consultation fees to start with.
Welcome to the forum @Timely and many like yourself have took the same initial step into MC with Releaf but soon see other options are more suited and here's a thread of another member in a similar situation and a few others experience's in a similar situation when looking to change
I was wondering what clinic people recommend who have been using med for a while and have moved clinics, hindsight you have experienced. I am with releaf but they do not appear to offer prescriptions to use elsewhere and will not discuss what they have available with me. Although they are very quick and efficient I need to have some choice to find what is right for me, so may look into moving clinics in the coming months. I would say in hindsight releaf is probably one of the best clinics for someone new to med can who has not experienced it before, but for someone used to it it’s...
Thank you for this, as everyone likes to tell me they are signed up but never can recommend.
And need to makesure I’m not paying over the odds.
As the worst thing for me is signing up and not being able to continue due to affordability.
Avoid Releaf, It's as close to a scam as you can get. They charge insane fees for the exact same medication you can get at a lot less elsewhere.
If budget is what we're aiming towards then there's a few good options:
Medicann - Brand new to the mainland market but established as a brand nonetheless. Absolutely free. They've only just launched but use IPS as a pharmacy and appear to be leading the way with the £0 fee models.
If you want something a bit more established then there's a few more good options.
Alternaleaf are £10pm or £39 per appt. There's no other hidden fees. I will say they're experiencing some issues with lots of new patients. so their service is currently lacking somewhat but it is the most popular option in the UK.
CB1 Medicalare next, they charge £50PA but with medication shipping fees that goes up to around the £120 mark to compete with Alternaleaf. They have a much better support team that Alternaleaf in terms of communication but occasionally have issues on the pharmacy front in terms of variety and prices. They're not one to honour price reductions whereas other pharmacies do.
Curaleaf - They're on the cheaper end like Alternaleaf and CB1 Medical but they're doctor led. So this means the doctor chooses your strains, allowance, etc. without much of a patient input. All the other clinics tend to operate with the patient leading the way on what they would like. It is helpful if you're new to cannabis altogether and a lot of patients start their journey here.
My advice would be Medicann or Alternaleaf/CB1 (with a warning of stock issues but you can choose any pharmacy do its not that deep).
We have a lot of members in the community from pretty much every clinic so I'm sure you'll get some first hand experiences. I'm with Alternaleaf and have been with a couple of others previous. I find Alternaleaf as a clinic to be fine, comms are a little slow but its £10pm so I don't care that much. The issue is with the pharmacy Montu. These guys have really struggled to meet the demand of the Alternaleaf patient base and it has caused stock issues but as I've mentioned you can go to other pharmacies.
I would recommend signing up to store. Montu.uk/collections/catalog and having a browse of their offerings to get an idea of how the market prices its products. which in turn will help you figure out a rough monthly cost.
This is very thorough thank you and definitely gives me more to think of .
Yes Releaf definitely seems expensive and also I wasn’t happy I couldn’t choose my own, so other then budget, I also want to make sure the flowers/oil is worth it . As some have said the flowers look old ?
Thank you .

If i were in your shoes I would give Medicann a go simply because they're free all around, use a really trusted pharmacy and have a lot of real, industry led excitement surrounding them. Especially considering you've fronted some cash to Releaf anyway. Alternatively CB1 are a good option to do this with as well.
Releaf should refund you by the way, I'm assuming they follow the same principle as the others on that front.
In terms of flower quality I think the first thing that acknowledging is that it's different to BM weed. Even our non-irradiated stuff is just less in your face so if you come into this with the idea of it being Cali recreational levels then you're going to be so disappointed.
We're starting to see flower come in as low as £4pg and as high as £11pg. I would say anything up to around the £6 mark is typically low quality, up to £8.50 is usually your mids and then your premium starts at around £9. Like with everything there are exceptions to the rule and you will find shit a the top end and gold at the bottom.
Brands like Curaleaf and Upstate will tend to give you really dry flower with poor trims and heavily irradiated. But that said Wedding Pop Triangle, High Silver and Tripoli are some of the most popular strains on medical and they're all from Curaleaf. The effects for the price can't really be debated for many people. I myself love Upstate's Mimosa Orange Punch.
Other brands like Primacann, Grow®, etc. will throw the most muted, tasteless stuff at you.
What I'm trying to say is that whist we have craft growers and even some brands like 4C Labs trying to focus on looks/smell/taste a lot of it will tend to be looked at for the effects.
This forum is the best place to have discussions on flower and look for recommendations and avoiding duds.

This issue affordability is the big one in my household as we have two patients and it has become really difficult but as long as new brands keep joining MC with £4-£6/g strains we are in with a fighting chance I feel and with you mentioning affordability then releaf really doesn't sound suited to you imo as there are much cheaper clinics with superior choice as pointed out in this thread , the good thing is you are aware of this now instead of 6 months of overpaying for things with limited choice and becoming disillusioned with MC .
My wife is at CB1 Medical and I'm quite comfy to recommend from her experience and it's a pretty flexible service too but she sometimes struggles to get the lower priced strains but more recently this has improved .

There is some flower that can be a bit bland but every Clinic/pharmacy has flower somewhere like that but most is Good. You'll find most clinics have the same flower on their Formularies, its not just one clinic that might have a bad batch of flower. What you have to remember when using MC is that a particular flower might work for you but not someone else, its best to find your own way through the choices after your first consultation. Your first consultation with CB1 you'll get to choose your meds with your Consultant. I gather you have some experience regarding Cannabis and if so youll be fine choosing your own after your consultation
correct, you can only be with 1 clinic at a time and need to provide discharge letters for new clinics.
I do wonder how much they can enforce this because these clinics don't speak with one another so its not like there's a central database but thats a different conversation.
Being with a clinic is from acceptance at MDT by the way, so as long as you've not got that far with a clinic then you're technically not a patient.

I was able to transfer from my old clinic without the discharge letter and provided it after receiving my first medication from CB1 Medical, they were pretty good with me

Same here with Cannabis Clinic Cardiff ,it was after receiving my first script with my new clinic that I requested a discharge letter and was I made aware this is the best way to do it by others here who had gone this way about it and my clinic was fine with it.

Well exactly that.. I’m happy that i looked today and found this forum as all the information provided by you guys so far has been great
The past couple days releaf have been wanting me to make an order but as im abit savvy I didn’t want to give them my money as yet.. Thank goodness I didn’t
Thank you
I was having big issues with my previous Clinic, before I left them they written out a prescription but I refused to pay it and got a consultation pretty quick with CB1 Medical and medication, it took my previous Clinic a couple of weeks to get my discharge letter together but luckily CB1 Medical prescribed me my meds without the letter so they are pretty flexible.

So are you a Releaf patient at the moment? Like you've had your appointments and they want you to purchase that first script?
It seems I was the one in the minority with how discharge letters are treated so I'd really recommend following up with @Dooby Doo and speaking to CB1 Medical. It seems like the pair of you are in somewhat similar positions with clinic swapping.

So I’ve only had the first consultation with them and so far they have sent out a prescription for what they recommended. I haven’t yet paid for anything other then consultation
Thank you all, really appreciate the advice.
to freely talk about it and get some actual insight 100% and without the stigma.
at least I have more clinics to choose from and the ones which you have mentioned I didn’t even realise existed..

Hi mate and welcome to the community. You are in the right place for sure and it is common to feel frustration whilst finding your feet so stick with it and best of luck on your MC journey.
Hi I’m T, I’ve just joined the forum as it looks like the best place I could possibly get some advice and freely talk without judgment !
I am looking to sign up with a medical cannabis clinic but unsure where to turn for affordability.
I’ve Signed up with releaf but seems very expensive? Haven’t actually ordered anything yet but need to get the ball in motion.
Thank you
