Edibles Magical Butter Machine

I use one to make oil and tincture. They are good machines. The one drawback to me is that you have to use a minimum of 500 mls of ethanol or oil (I use olive oil) so you end up with a lot of product and because I then evaporate the tincture down from 500 MLS to 100 mls about £30 of food grade ethanol disappears into thin air. At the moment I have a couple hundred mls left of Northern Lights in olive oil and 100 mls of Apricot Cheese and Cream tincture and 10 mls of Super Bubba Kush tincture. Next up will be a batch of tincture of the hardest hitting Indica I can find for sleep. (Recommendations welcome for that. I had been intending to use Sourdough but I’m finding it doesn’t knock me out).

This is something I've had a desire to do for a bit and looked at the levo oil infuser in the past but your post has just made this real to me and the benefits look obvious .Food for thought

It’s an easy process. The advantage of alcohol tinctures over oil infusions is that you can continue to evaporate the alcohol if you want a stronger product. But obviously the alcohol is more expensive to start with. I use Spirytus which is 95% and available online or at shops like Gerry’s in Soho at around £37 a bottle. I know you can buy a litre of ethanol for half that price from Liquid Essences and I have bought from them before but the reviews have made me less sure that their stuff really is food grade. Even at £37 a 500ml bottle for the Spirytus by the time the mix is reduced to 100 mls you’re still getting a 1 ml dose for 37 pence so with the price of the weed included you’re looking at around £1.20 a dose if you start with 10 grams of herb.

It's the thought of the process that has deterred me in the past and I was going to use MCT and in fact did but more the old fashioned way and I'll probably watch how you guys go on with it and take the plunge sooner or later .

I’ve done the old school way too but this does away with having to stand over a double boiler with a spoon and thermometer for four hours, topping up with water every thirty minutes.
