Hello everyone, I hope you can do me a favour. I am looking to track the entire Media landscape on how Cannabis is portrayed.
I see more and more North American programs showing Cannabis in a good light.
Programs like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrinking_(TV_series) feature it as an everyday occurrence.

But a Radio programme like https://www.bbc.com/mediacentre/2026/intrigue-ransom-man-bbc-radio-4 in an episode has a negative take, even though you can tell the person interviewed was using it for medical reasons.

Let's track all the programmes on mainstream Radio, TV and build a picture of how things are changing.

Great idea @Tim Henley

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5884792/ - Dispensed is one that probably fits both categories. on one hand it uses comedy to show how cannabis can help people of all walks of life and on the other hand it uses comedy to portray the typical stereotypes associated with cannabis users.

Good idea Tim and happy to contribute..

Question for you, the current bout of reefer madness that seems to be permeating through our mainstream media is not taking place in a vacuum and there is very obviously a political element to this. How can we go about creating a space (perhaps in MedBud or perhaps elsewhere?) that allows political discourse in relation to cannabis to take place in a safe way? I haven’t gone into any more detail re the politics as we have clear instructions from the mods not to go there.

Weeds got soccer moms on board and took away some stigma attached to the plant and medicinal side to it a very long time ago and created a few customers by season finale.
High maintenance was a good show when on yt as it showed the reality and eclectic amount of people that use it.

I think what would be a really good idea to create real positivity and MC touched on is discource and education. Future cannabis project had a vast amount of podcasts , live zooms about allsorts. Contacting them to have a some guests on an educated pod or medbudlive to help really educate and create a patient group . Hash church has amazing guests from all over and alot of canadian info , especially if contacted hash church to educate patients , clinics and specialists about canadian hash culture and companys and products. I know there is conultation fees etc but i am sure the global canna community could lend a hand with some legendary guests. I think those both communities have the most inteligent convos and comes through in a very positive way.

Best medical show on UK TV was Gone to Pot also using the North American model as @Tim Henley mentioned.
Bobby George, Pat St Clement, John Fashnu, Linda Robson and Christopher Biggins.
Its oldish now but gold. Focusing on normies and the medicinal side of cannabis.

"Gone to Pot: American Road Trip"

I have lots of more up to date media, will update the thread as I can
