Hi everyone.
I am a new medical cannabis patient, smoked 20 years ago anything we could get our hands on, gave up for 20 years, started again this year and now on the medical.

I am speechless at the power of cannabis.

I have got 3 damaged discs in my back, it has caused nearly 30 years of issues, now don't get me wrong, I have had the nerves burnt away and lost nearly 3st so its pretty good but as the days go on by the end of the day I can be in real bad pain. I do a physical job and have got to the stage where if I stop working my back just seizes so I sort of have to keep moving all the time to keep it free, I do driveways so you might imagine the slog it has been at times, have sort of learnt to not overdo things.

What has amazed me is some of these strains actually work to stop the pain, I have recently had full nights sleep and woken up refreshed, this is something I can not remember ever happening, I guess instead of waking up uncomfortable every so often im now not uncomfortable. feeling my body totally relaxed is something totally NEW to me. Its amazing to be honest.

I also have undiagnosed ADHD, As a child I was labeled hyperactive, given a special diet and nothing was ever said again, for my whole life up to this year I didn't actually know I had it and thought everyone was the same and I have always been so confused why they aren't. I have had years of up and down and now know why and am hopefully armed to stop any more downs now.

So some of these Sativa strains make me feel amazing, clear headed, calm and when im on my hyper days I am literally buzzing with motivation.

Just wish there were Sativa strains with the same anti inflammatory qualities as some of the Indica (are there any effective ones, some seem mild helpful for the back).

equally weighted Hybrids can effect me differently, my mood sees to make a huge difference to effect, might just be in my head though.

Anyway

I went with bnm. they have put me into Integro but im a bit confused.

I understand I can have anything off the Integro site?

How do I order it? just put in my basket and pay? initially the doctor prescribed 2 x10g and then I contacted bnm who were able to add a couple more strains and carts. but can I just order direct off the site?

Once a prescription has been made I assume that lasts the month? but there's no amounts, bnm says 120g a month is typically no problem but I can't see that anywhere. (I don't need that much to be honest anyway, more a case of wanting the ability to try different strains).

It appears that the doctors and clinics are quite laid back giving what people want as I suppose as long as you tick the compliance boxes thats what matters from a legal standpoint perhaps?

Thanks again and loving my new life at the minute.

My first check up bnm said they would sort but looks like I can do that through the Integro portal?

Welcome to the community @t888 and looking at the effects this has had is heart warming and that's some graft doing driveways with back issue's so I can Imagine the difference a good nights sleep brings.

I'm pretty sure you can order normally from the Integro portal as Big Narstie Medical is attached to them and some patients do need 120grams/month but I use about 60g roughly but whilst your trying different strains out you may get one or two that don't suit you medically so it's always best to have a bit extra as long it's within financial means .

Some patients order more than once a month as I do myself usually but if you agree a monthly amount then that will be the total amount for the month but in theory can be split into separate requests but these will have their own delivery charge where as your first delivery each month should have free postage iirc.

Some clinics are more relaxed than others regards prescribing and strains available to patients and you should have full access to the strains available on the Integro portal .
Also I would check with with BNM about your check up but it could well be done through the Integro portal.

From what you have said I would literally request what I thought I needed for the next month from the integro portal and see where it takes you but It sounds like it would just go through as normal .

Thanks for the helpful reply and yes its been really hard, I now feel like I have the full package to basically start a new life, the weight loss, the treatments and now the cannabis I just feel different, much better. , I might just try and order another 10g and see if it goes through. Just don't want to take the mic iykwim. Great forum and site btw :)

Welcome @t888 😊

I can’t help with the ordering side of things with your particular clinic but I wanted to welcome you anyway and also , I have spine and pelvis problems and a few decades of nothing touching the sides. Being on medical has changed that massively , the relief I have felt including having a decent nights sleep has been life changing. What a great time to finally be on the legal side of medicating and actually feeling some relief. It can take time finding what works the most effectively , the strains and terpenes which benefit your body and conditions the most but MedBud is such a great resource and full of very knowledgable folk so you are definitely in the right place here - good luck on your journey 👌

Hi mate, I'm new also.
Regarding your question on anti-inflammatory strains, I've been looking into this also today, if you Google cannabis terpines and look at the picture results, there are tables that explain what each turpine is good for, I then came back here and looked at the spreadsheet to see which strains had the terpines I'm looking for.

There is probably all the information on this site, but Im new here and haven't gone through a fraction of all the great information on here.
There are definitely Sativa strains (Hybrids I guess) that are for pain and antiinflammatory.

I'm sure one of the experts here can guide you on this.
Welcome by the way, this is an exceptionally friendly place 👍

Not sure on rules posting pictures, but hopefully the one I've attached is permitted and helps you

Just forget about Sativas and Indicas. It's not a real distinction, and even if it would matter, about 90% of the available stuff is Hybrid anyway. Watch terpene profiles where available, only that matters.

It's not just the terpenes it's also the temperature they vaporise at. The whole vaping side is a bit of a dark art in itself. Eking out different things by adjusting temperatures or just setting a middle ground temperature to get a selection. For me the lower the temperature the less stoned you feel (it is very clean at 140-150C) and the higher you go, the more stoned you feel (at 190-200C it always seems to be very high body load for me). This kind of computes since in the days when I smoked it, it would often be like someone took a sledgehammer to my head. When i started to vape it, i would aim for around 150-160C and it would be a lot cleaner and allow me to function better. As ever YMMV.

I've been looking at boiling and oxidation points in the literature today, it's gone down a bit of a rabbit hole, I've had to look at flavonoids etc as well.
I will post a chart once its all compiled. I'm tired but off the top of my head I think only 2 terpenes come off at 145, Limonene was one, I can't remember the other but I have it all on my laptop and will sort it out.

Fortunately I still have access to download scientific papers, I've gone through a good number of them today but have a few more to read.

I've also been looking at how they all interact, I may do a write up in the appropriate section of the forum.
But it won't be a quick job as I have a lot on at the moment.
Although my masters was in biochemistry, my PhD is in toxicology, oddly I've never looked into this side of cannabis, I last worked in Drug and Alcohol Recovery,I mainly looked into opiates etc.

Might as well use my degree and journal access for this 😂

Different people different strains for different things a whole lot of you guessed it Differently Things Sativas don't kill my OAP ailments but let my head cope with it .Peaceful journeys everyone 😊
