UK Plan to decriminalise cannabis is 'new approach'

Wow, "unbiased" BBC managed to find a doctor in Canada who can pull out bullshit like poisonings and schizophrenia. Like how they always find someone vehemently defending some fascist values and quickly give them a voice. Because kids can't get poisoned on Paracetamol if they find it and chew down on it, only weed.

Honestly, you are all tokers here. You likely know a hundred heavy tokers.

Has ANYONE EVER SEEN someone becoming schizophrenic from weed?

Sure, I have seen "psychosis" cases, where the bipolar "friend" overdid it and went totally crazy - he was crazy without weed all the time too. That's why they don't give it to everyone, especially people with EXISTING psychosis.

When my firsy psych doctor was actively agains cannabis and brought schizophrenia up, I straight asked him if he has ever seen anyone actually getting schizo because of cannabis, the answer was of course "actually never".

I laugh at the poisonings. After watching some dumbass on YT that took like 4g worth of THC in a massive edible overdose and didn't die, it's like what is the LD50 for THC? Same for schizophrenia, most the time people who go down that path have issues to start with or are smoking weed and taking coke, mdma, speed and pretty much every other drug that can be sourced. The people i've known that had Schizophrenia always had it and it manifested the most in late teenage years. I've seen psychosis a few times in people that smoked way too much, like heroic level doses. I've seen people go fknuts after doing shrooms and weed in the same night. But the most craziness is always when people mix stimulants with weed, I guess the upper/downer dilemma. At Uni there were many casualties to Vodka Redbull for the same reason.

As ever it's the BBC, it's like the taxpayer funded equivalent to the DM. Anything you read or watch, take with a pinch of salt.

The main problem for potential poisonings isn't flower, it's edibles. I mean how much flower would you have to eat to tox out? Assuming you don't vomit after the first mouthful. But since we are unlikely to ever see edibles like they have in the states it's unlikely to be an issue.

It is them scaring young children with lies when you look at the sciencey stuff

I'll be honest i'm not against scaring young children. If they are 16 or older they can do what the hell they want, but under 16, stay off the drugs until you learn about concepts like moderation and also learn your own limitations and how they affect others. Too many people do drugs at a young age, without understanding how to do it safely and it causes issues down the line for them, their families and the people around them.

Yeh it's been a long time since I went to school so the positives were never talked about except amongst the students and a couple of the groovier teachers.
