Hello people ☺️

I thought I would kick start the thread on vape pen & cartridges 🥳🥳

We have seen an increase in availability of products and a shift towards competitive pricing with the recent price declines across the majority of the available product range.

I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are regarding the vape carts available on prescription and yours thoughts on pricing?
Do you have experience using vape carts and how did you find them or are you planning on using carts in the future?

Do they use glycerin what actually goes into a cart? Is it pure oil like say a dab or is it like e cigs where the nictotine in this case THC is diluted into a carrier oil? I dont want to inhale carrier oils or anything but natural plant oils so i always frowned upon the carts.

Anyone care to explain it?

I can't jump the gun here much on things which are not yet publicly announced, but I can say expect another range to drop in price shortly - and expect two potential new brands before Christmas. Two companies are also working on rosin carts.

Anyone care to explain it?
Just noting I don't know myself.

Ok so i will add a rosin cart if its good quality but until i hear about regular carts and glycerin and more info for me its a general no no. Theres bad stories about lungs and carrier oils. Would you want to coat your lung in a carrier oil? Not me but i would coat my lungs in pure THC carrier oil as its a healing and disinfectant and cancer inhibitor etc.

Interesting point. I think some are distillate and some whole extraction? From experience with pure distillate, it’s very viscous and was hard to use in a c-cell cart sometimes even pulling the distillate through the mouthpiece like a long viscous strand on drawing. So maybe these carts would be mixed with a carrier for easy use? Just speculation

What about the temperature too any idea how they work? I thought e cigs were banned indoors by regulationn tobacco/ecigs but there are no laws on the mighty vape etc if it is a medical device. It can not combust as it maxes out at 210c and 230c is the combustion temperature so i am curious what celcius they "vape" at.

I believe the focus is on the wattage with the standard battery pens but if you have a mod that you can change the temp on you would just burn the coil out and kill the cart before you combust it

Ooooo I will be keep my eyes peeled. I like the idea of the easier use compared to loading a dry herb vape and the huge difference in size compared to a mighty or Venty for easier portability

I was very skeptical on the cartridges, but last order I picked up 0.5ml T350 Jack Herrer.

The new pricing of £49 or so, in my opinion is pretty good value and in line with BM. Although it was only 0.5ml the 'liquid' is so thick, I estimate I would be able to keep one going for a week, if only occasionally puffs during work day. Weekends flower is a pleasure, but for the medical aspect, the cartridges are so convenient.

I have just got a payment link for the 1ml T800 cartridge, and Hindu Kush flower. Will update how it goes, ideally I'd like to switch to flower in evening/weekends only, carts during week.

Great to be here! :alien:

Welcome to the community 👋 We're expecting to see some further price drops on vape cartridges that hopefully improves the situation further.

Right now there's still quite the price differential (per milligram) between flower and carts, which has many simply having to use flower for affordability. The constant feedback though is that most patients prefer using carts in public.

Hello fellow vapour 🖖

I’m seriously considering adding carts to my script for midday week days. The price comparison to BM is still easily double but i definitely the prices are becoming more competitive. It’s now roughly at the price concentrates once where when they first become available. I remember paying €90 in Amsterdam for crumble 😒

100% agree. It’s the cost that is the killer for carts for me at the moment. Compared to the flower THC mg price 🫣

Interesting on the cost aspect, agreed it appears horrific from a qty pov, though I had considered £49 per 0.5ml pretty good, only as my BM ‘contact’ is selling 0.5ml for £50, probably is cheaper shipping around BM. As I said, I was surprised how long the 0.5ml held on for with daily use! Fingers crossed my 1ml T800 cart drops tomorrow, if I can get a fortnight per 1ml, I think I will switch full time carts, bit of flower for when home 🔥

1ml disposable £40 or £40 a gram of shatter locally, so for me £50 a half is expensive. Sometimes I don’t have the time to sit down and medicate so the easy use and zero prep is what I love about the carts. Unfortunately I have a habit of not putting them back down and constantly puffing

i used to just buy shatter or make iso and then add a liqudfier wax , 1 gram of shatter made 5ml of juice for £50/60 quid]
/ just ordered the blueberry vida today m went for the 1 ml cart as .5ml is 69 quid and 1ml only £95

Got the T800 Pineapple Express last Saturday (1ml) from Upstate, to be honest I'm pretty impressed!

Cost wise, yeah £95 is steep, but a week solid use, though still with flower in evenings. From my current estimation, a 1ml cartridge at this use should make it to 3 weeks. Hasn't quite turned me to look at switching full time to carts, but certainly will keep an eye on them. Another 10/20% discount and they will look very appealing.

The cartridge itself has a delicious taste, I am using with an OM Vape keyring 510 battery, at medium voltage (~3.2V). Very nice to use during daily activities and incredibly convenient. Takes a little getting used to, after inhalation first few days would always cough, but know how hard to blast it now.

Current rating of Pineapple Express T800 1ml - 7/10 - If 20% cheaper would be 9/10

Definitely one to keeep an eye on

Nice one @Adge123 ,seems a good result for you and if your saving by not using flower in the day even better, Lets hope as more similar products come on the market they have a bit of a price war and settle at an appealing price. (y)

I don't know the technicalities, but from my very basic assumption, I would think it's much easier for the brand/cultivator to prepare and sell these carts, as opposed to growing flower. Would also solve a lot of repeat prescription worries as there wouldn't be such thing as a 'bad batch'. So hopefully the more popular they become, as you said, should trigger a bit of a pricing war.

Think they are the future, especially for out and about subtle medication.

Let's see!
