Flower Tofino Ripper™ CKS CHM T28 Cookies & Chem

Looked quite nice on opening the bag. Too dry, but still some smell and flavour. Had a few bowls while out and about, nice effects. But then upon closer inspection when I got home I have sadly found some mould. Just my luck. I got a bit of a taste of it in one of the bowls which tipped me off so now I just hope I don't get a sinus infection, as has happened before. Hopefully Tofino Ripper handle these kind of things better than Big Narstie, who have me on week 6 now and counting for a resolution. God it's exhausting.

Kid you not mate I've had some funky tasting Gorilla Kush and the most awful phlegm coming off my chest the last few days, I haven't scoped it but you just know when the taste isn't right as you mentioned.

You're having such terrible luck mate and I honestly hope things change for you, fingers crossed for a speedy resolution, becoming a real eye opener at the amount of mould, defeats the objective of being irradiated for immunosuppressed patients when you have globs of mould spores going directly into their respiratory system

I'd love to know when these patient groups like the UPA etc are going to make some noise on issues like this instead of promoting their own agenda

If I went to the chemist to get some organic medication and it had mould, which is fungi that grows in damp, warm conditions on organic matter, there'd be a Donald Trump lawsuit filled and persued by my bastad solicitors. Especially if it had a detrimental direct negative effect on my health and wellbeing!

Grim mate. I'd say it's worth giving it a scope if you have one because the Gorilla Kush is one I have found mould on previously. Yes it’s a sorry state of affairs. In theory the irradiation should kill any mould so even though it is visible it should be non viable, but this is in theory. I would trust gamma much more than beta here as it is properly penetrating. Either way I’ve had a cracking sinus pressure type headache all yesterday and have been hacking up globs of phlegm this morning so at the very least it’s caused irritation from the mycotoxins and is not exactly an ideal outcome

Sort of a chocolate chem. About as you might expect from the genetics. Very cookie dawg in looks and structure. Probably would have come nice with a boveda so a shame for all kind of reasons

I agree with the sentiment but for what it’s worth I found mould about as regularly on the black market, but more egregious examples. I will say in my experience black market sellers offer much better support though and would typically reship mouldy product next day no questions. I was hoping medical would provide me with a safe source of medication but sadly not

It’s not right! It’s not like this either any other medications! Honestly my BM associates gave more of a f*ck about the quality of the product then the clinics do. All my connects knew I was a medical user and at least seemed to care and wouldn’t sell me certain batches . We are stuck buying 10g bags of inconsistent quality.

Using a dslr, 100mm macro lens and extension tubes. You won’t get the same quality with a loupe but it will be good enough to spot mould and I would say it’s not a bad idea getting one. 9 times out of 10 mould is on the interior of dense buds. The only time I have found mould on exterior is the black triangle from Upstate.

Yes it does irritate me. It’s a medicine but doesn’t seem to be really regulated like one. Lots of hot air but no proof in the pudding as far as I am concerned.

No problem mate. You will tend to find botrytis, the fluffy spider web looking stuff, in interiors. And then white powder known as ‘powdery mildew’ on exteriors. The latter being much less common as it should be easily spotted.

Just a thought, perhaps all organic material has some form of mould formations, especially when it's packaged then stored in a warehouse somewhere for bloody ages unmonitored! There's somethings they're NOT telling us, as per usual!!!

Personally I think all the mould I have found so far was there from the grow, and I’m starting to think most commercial operations are just that - however much they like to sing and dance about small batch and craft. Most of these guys seem to have no idea what they are doing, likely jumped in just to make some cash, or just don’t care about patients or safety one bit. It’s really not hard to grow clean cannabis that is free from mould. Have good air flow and keep the humidity in check. Seriously it’s that easy. Then when it’s dried and cured, mould isn’t or shouldn’t be growing anymore either, assuming it was correctly dried and cured, as the moisture levels are too low.

At this point I’m starting to feel like I’m being taken advantage of by a criminal racket. I could grow my own safe and clean for pennies on the gram, but am forced to buy their mouldy shite for insane prices. I just want a legal and safe source of medication is that really too much to ask for

My old man grew in an outdoor 10x8 wooden shed for years, never once had mould ... You've absolutely hit the nail on the head with everything you have said

Hadn't thought of that. Makes sense about mould. In the grow. Wrong environmental atmosphere's. Government backed gangsters innit 4 paperwork only! I feel like a conspiracist.

Just tried it. Not fresh, quite dry.
Effective though but quite harsh.
It's the only one in the Canadian Craft Cannabis range that doesn't come in a glass jar and it shows.
I've put it in a glass jar with a Integro boost pack. Will see what it's like on the weekend.
