Transform Drug Policy Foundation have been around now for many years. They have produced significant documents on a regulatory approach to drugs/cannabis. They have advised governments around the world on Cannabis reform including Uruguay and Malta and produced the definitive document on Cannabis regulation.

They are now focussing on the U.K. and soon to release their 'Roadmap to UK Cannabis regulation'.

@Muiredach I don't think this contravenes forum guidelines but if I'm wrong I apologise in advance.

I'll play devil's advocate here and say they've been marketing heavily for donations in the UK, but we haven't seen any output from them whatsoever which could help move the UK towards cannabis legalisation.

Lots of claims they're going to make a difference, but actions speak louder than words - and certainly louder than constantly trying to solicit money.

Excuse my cynicism, I've debated with Steve Rolles a few times on X and wasn't left with the impression they're particularly competent or capable of changing the status quo.

No issues discussing, just excuse my strong take! 🙃

No excuses needed. I don't know Steve Rolles personally but I knew Danny Kushlick (through work) years ago. I've read Steve's (and others) work including their work on regulating drugs. I find it impressive, but obviously it aligns with my own views so I would, wouldn't I lol. I think there focus has always been about demystifying what a regulated market could look like. To me, back then, seemed like a logical approach.

And agree, if they don't have that balance between fund raising and output then it will rub people the wrong way.

To be frank, Starmer could address a number of issues via cannabis regulation; relieve pressure on the criminal justice system (currently broken), stop criminalising a percentage of the population, creating a new economic 'growth' market (lol) etc but given his conservative views on this I can't see things changing. I do however, believe there is a natural 'tipping' point where we become the outlier in Europe and pressure tops the scales. Ha ha forever the optimist :p
